I am working that weekend. Retirement can't come soon enough. Maybe I will get at least Saturday off.

If you have good Health Insurance and some or most of it is paid for by the Hospital, I'd consider staying on.

Way back when I retired in 1997, the state paid 90% of my premiums.

I retired and took the Insurance they offered for retirees.   It cost me like $55.00.
Each year, it keeps going up, currently I pay $954.00 and since the wife turned 65, but is still working Wellmark figures hey, we got a new Duck on the Pond.

I was informed 3 weeks ago, even though she has insurance, and it is my Primary coverage, then Medicare, then this firkin Policy, it is going to $1700.00 a month, and If I join Silver Script for meds, it will drop to $1200.00 a month.    What a firkin rip off this is.

Her Insurance at the Post Office covers our Meds very good, tried to collect the co-pay from Silver Script, they said they were Primary on it and wouldn't pay.

So, I quit fighting them and have gone the cheapest route.

So Good Luck.

Jim I know what you mean about liking your job. I like what I do ,but in 5 years I can retire and probably will just so I won't have to work weekends. Good thing is Rob carries our health insurance.
Can you be occasional? I have thought about that in 5 years also.

I always thought in the Medical profession after retirement, you could go back and work any days and or hours ya wanted, due to such a shortage in qualified, licensed personnel.

I know that is the way with my niece-in-law down on Kansas City was doing.    Before my nephew met her and married her, she worked as an ER Nurse in Phoenix.   He was up here so they decided he would come to the desert and work.    He was going  to have to take a hell of a hit on wages.    So they decided she would come up to KC.    She ended up getting 1/2 again as much as she did in AZ.   They sold his house and bought a farm just North of KC.   He wanted out on the farm for a long time.    He grew up on one.     He is the Super Fixer for a crane Company in KC.      They have their cranes all over the US, and if they have a problem with one, he is the one who goes and fixes it all expenses paid and wages, that are charged to the leaser of the equipment at the rate of $75 an hour.

He draws $36 an hour normally.

He has had to go to Mpls about a dozen times cause the operator overloads the crane, and knocks it out of whack.     Takes him about 9 to 12 hours each trip to fix it.        He was up there 2 weeks ago, fixed it and went into the main office and told them to fire the operator or it was going to start being $400 an hour starting on the next call, from when he leaves home until he gets back home.    Big shot called the operator off of the Crane and told him right in front of the nephew, if ya break this crane from overloading it again, you will pay the repair to fix it, and gave him the hourly rate, he gulped and said crap I didn't realize it cost that much to fix it.     Owner said and if it happens and you pay, you will be fired, with no severance.

Russ, I'm thinking that with all the electronics on the newer cranes, you  can't overload one anymore. Same goes for boom angle. Not high enough, the crane shuts down, stops the pick! OSHA and insurance regs.   Fuzzy
