Posted yesterday about my 35 mph front end hop and have decided to try the Dyna Beads.

Question- Do I need to purchase the filtered valve core as well ?

Thanks

Never mind.

According to the nice folks at Innovating Balancing, the answer is "no"

Hope you donot have a Avon tire.
Check it for out of round first if
 it is a Avon.

What do you do if the Avon is out of round.  Relating the question to the Dyna beads.

If it's out of round, I will return it. Since mine only has 155 miles on it, shouldn't be a problem. Avon is pretty good about standing behind their tyres.

35 mph is a little slow to be a balance related issue.  I would lift the bike and give the front tire a good spin and try to see any problem.

FINALLY a tire for the Valk Interstate. Dunlop E3 with Dyna beads. This combination on this bike is out of the world. I cannot describe the difference in the way the machine handles over the E2's.

Just did a front and rear change this weekend.
E3s are one stiff S.O.B. of a tire.
   Dyna beads are slick.
Also replaced those damn valve stems.
Now don,t need those plastic holders.

That is great news. Would be nice to have a report 5,000 - 6,000 miles down the road. I have found all new tires are "great" after replaceing near worn out tires. I am not a high mileage rider but I ride a little hard and don`t get the miles I should out of tires. Just would be nice to know.  Wink

I was not changing tires when I switched from lead to dyna beads, so I compared their recommendations to how much lead I had on my wheels.  Although they recommend 2 oz for the size of the Valkryie rear, my dealer had installed 2.75 oz of lead on the wheel to balance an Avon Cobra.  I put 3 oz of dyna beads in the rear and 2 oz in the front.  I figured it's probably better to have a few too many than not enough.

E3 on the front, installed 1.75 oz.  Battlax on the rear, installed 2 oz.  Recently completed a 2,350 mile ride with no vibration.  Very smooth up to highway speeds, rarely went over 80mph as I had received a fast driver award a few weeks ago.
