Hi Ricardo. Welcome to the VRCC. Can you give more detail on what you are working on? Ignition? Radio? Alternator? It will make helping you much easier.

In his post, he is looking for a CF, and Interstate, so asking for a condenser, I can only feel he is looking for the condenser on the alternator.

Is that the only place it's mounted? I remember an old post where it can be mounted somewhere else, the neck of the bike I think, but that may be on a non-IS model with a CB add on.

I would think he could get a replacement from any radio/CB house. Like mentioned may times, some truck stop somewhere that has CB service.

There is a filter that "should" be mounted on the IS if a CB is installed. This filter is on the right side gusset just behind the neck below the plastic piece that covers this frame gusset. I have a CB and never installed the filter without any noticeable whine or interference to speak of.

And I think you're right Gordon, the IS does have a condenser on the alternator and when adding a CB I would think that it would be essential to defeat the whine.

When I installed the Honda CB on my standard, the install kit had a condenser that attached to the back side of the alternator.  Not sure if this was/is available as a separate item but I'm sure someone here knows.

+1. I added a CB to my IS from Mike at Valkyrie Bling and More and never installed the condenser and works fine without any noise.

Hello Friends!!!!!.

Sorry for not reply before, a good friend who his name is Steve and live in Wisconsin, he was writing on my email and helped me with some questions, that's way I forgot this place.

Well, thanks gordon for your help, and you are right, I'm looking for the condenser on the alternator. Now well, I don't have any CB or radio mounted on my valky, if I don't conect the condenser, I can have a problem?, I mean, can I put the alternator whitout the condenser?

As replied above, some have the CB, but don't have a condenser, and they have no problems. If you go this way, and you have a wine in sound in your speakers, then you need the condenser. If no wine, then you don't need it.

You say you don't have a radio or CB, then do you even have a GL1500CF then? Interstates come with a radio, and the alt should have a factory condenser on it already.

I had my 99 Interstate for a few years before I purchased a CB. Bought the CB, Bought the CB antenna and mount, Plug and play and was and has been working ever since. I don't recall any condenser? I have also replaced my alt as well. I have replaced my buddies alt in his 2000 GW too and can't remember a condenser to connect. no issues with noise.??

Hi gordonv, I saw the technical manual and see that only the GL1500CF have a condenser. I bought my byke a few years a go, but she don't had accesories, I mean that when I bought her she don't had any accesories. I've bought her some accesosories but not a CB or any radio. now The condenser have troubles and the batery don't charge because the alternator is first connected to the condenser and then to the batery. I don't have tryed to connect them directly, I mean, without the condenser. I will try it and then I will tell you whats up, thanks a lot for all of you and sorry for my bad english.

I have never seen an Interstate with out a fm radio mounted in the fairing..  Has it got the trunk, saddlebags, and a fairing?  Should have an antenna on the right hand side of the trunk also.   Do you have any pictures of it?  Hoser   ???

Should look like this.  My completely stock 1999 Interstate.

Like Hoser's post, a GL1500CF model is the interstate. Like his picture, the IS comes stock with the fairing and radio, no CB.

In your avatar, your personal picture, you have 2 bikes, the one looks like a Valkyrie standard, a GL1500C (?).

Please clarify.

Hello everybody:

I had a mistake, my motorcycle not was a GL1500CF is a GL150C,  only the /CF have a condenser, the /C no.

I thought that my bike was a CF because in the tecnical manual only that model have a condenser, but after I read to detail i saw that I was wrong.

Then, I'm connect the batery and alternator without the condenser but doesn't work. I remove the alternator and open it, it had a couple of cables for the rotor that don't work fine, now, a cousin that have a repair motorcycle shop is to check it and then put it again.

I will tell you what happened after, thanks for being on the lookout.

You have a nice day, and we stay in contact.
