BF has them and they really look nice. He used Hondaline brackets to mount his within the confines of the Hondaline saddlebag guard rails.

Yep.  What exactly do you want to know about them?

Compared to the Mustangs, trust me, he won't.  I've had those and they hold about half as much as a set of hardbag Mustangs.

I read your question too quick and didn't see that you asked about the Easy Brackets.

When I mounted my bags, I considered the Easy Brackets.  I didn't like them for several reasons.  Primarily because I wanted the bags as close to the rear fender like OEM bags so I could mount the OEM bag rails using the Mustangs.  The other reason was because I wanted something rock solid.

The Easy Brackets have +'s and -'s.  The +'s are when you take the bags off (for whatever reason), they leave a clean look on the rear fender....no brackets left behind...just a couple chrome studs to hang the Easy Brackets on....and, they're easy enough to mount them directly to the bags.

The -'s are that they make the bags stick waaaay out from the fender.  Again, IMHO, it just don't look right.  They don't look bad mounted, just different....and wide.

Also, the Mustang bags are a heavy bag....they don't weight a ton, but they're not light either.  They're a fiberglass bag and arn't light weight at all.  I pm'd a couple members that did have the Easy Brackets with the Mustangs and they said that the mounts did work pretty well on the bike, but that they did move somewhat on the bike when mounted.

A couple pics of members bikes with Mustangs and Easy Brackets.  Note how the bags are offset from the rear fender.

Here's a thread on how I mounted my Mustangs (lots of pics)......

Seems like its a lot of weight to stick on a couple of studs.  Can they be mounted directly to the bike?  The bags I have now are some old Saddlemen bags that mount right to the fender.  Also, what's the difference between the easy brackets and the edge brackets?  It looks like the edge brackets are heavier.  How much of a difference does it make??
Got any pics from right behind the bike with the edge brackets?  Its kinda hard to tell how bad they stick out from the side...

Do the bags 'move' with the easy brackets?  Seems like its a lot of weight to stick on a couple of studs.  Can they be mounted directly to the bike?  The bags I have now are some old Saddlemen bags that mount right to the fender.  Also, what's the difference between the easy brackets and the edge brackets?  It looks like the edge brackets are heavier.  How much of a difference does it make??

Read everything above.  I think I amended my posts while you where typing out yours.

As far as I know, there really isn't any difference between the Easy and the Edge Brackets.  They both mount the same and are the same size with the same offset.

Yep, absolutely.   cooldude

Like I said, that was the primary reason I used them (other than that I already had a set laying around).  They were the best option that I found that will hold the bags close to the fender like the OEM bag mounts do.

However, note that I had to modify them to get them to work.  If you can weld, it's a piece of cake.

Is this what I'll need....http://www.servicehondapsn.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=2552514&category=Motorcycles&make=Honda&year=1998&fveh=132668
....I was hoping to just bolt through them and through the fender.....The inside isn't molded to fit the grab rail, though, are they??  Not sure what you mean by modifying the Hondaline bracket either....What I'd like(hopefully, it isn't unrealistic) is for it to fit to the fender and have the clean look as the Valks with the edge bracket install....

Those are for the OEM Honda factory bags.  They won't work for the Mustangs.

I used these.....

They are for the OEM Hondaline leather bags.......like in the ebay link posted above.

IMO, BF is the forum expert on Mustang Bags and how they should be mounted. I'm wondering if modified Tsukayu brackets would work? I purchased a set of Tsukayu strong leather bags and was happy with the supplied mounts. This bag is a little different design and slightly smaller than the Mustang bag but both are built by Tsukayu. FWIW.

I've seen the painted Tsukayu bags, this is the first I've seen of this style.  I'm more inclined to go with the OEM bag mounts because it looks like the Tsukayu mounts look like the edge bracket's spacing.
