hey yall, tj has an inspection tomorrow afternoon in s. dallas and i'm wondering if anyone could recommend a place for us to stay south of there a bit.  granbury?? waxahachie??  i'm looking for quaint, county seat, river townish kind of place.

Granbury meets all of the stated criteria. As an aside, Linda's restaurant, just off the square, has the best chicken fried steak I've ever eaten.

If you are riding up, you'll find lots of nice roads around there.  Don't miss 51 (Paluxy Highway) south from Granbury to 67.  At that point, you're close enough to Hico and the Koffee Kup you can work in a slice of pie.

If you are driving up, keep Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in mind.  It's great.  http://www.fossilrim.org/

thanks guys for the replies.  i'm still at home  Roll Eyes. tim rode up to dallas and is heading home now.  rain is supposedly coming through that area tomorrow, so i passed on the ride up/over night.

it looks like a trip to granbury is in the near future, tho.   Wink
