Since we (most of us) are kinda forced to run alkeehol gas I've always felt it was a good idea to use a gas additive every once in awhile.  So I throw a can of seafoam in or a bottle of techron every once in awhile.  However I usually fill up and dump the additive in when I get home (into the full tank) thinking Im just treating the gas, because I have no problems with the carbs.

Well 4 or 5 days ago I bought a bottle of techron and the tank was below half, so I dumped in half a bottle anyways, the next time I filled up, I figured the strength would be about right.

So in day or so I fill up and then after a long ride I needed to fill again so I decided to dump the other half in before gassing up.  WOW

On the way to the gas station I was feeling like it had a flat spot or missing or something, just didnt feel right.  I started wondering if maybe the techron was too concentrated.  So, I fill up with midgrade and leave the gas station.  within a block or so of the gas station she "cleared her throat"  I mean it sounded like a real quiet cough and then BOOM BABY she was running strong.

Letting the Techron be a bit more concentrated sure knocked a cobweb out from somewhere cause the idle is smoother and the seat of the pants HP is like I had a tune up or something.

Funny how it was 7 miles to the gas station and WAY more than that to get home.........must get that odometer checked out

My 97 rode like a new bike the rest of the ride..........

I also periodically add some seafoam or techron to the tank year round. (marine grade stabil and startron in winter, or anytime a bike will sit for awhile).

I usually add a strong dose to a third tank and get it going at all speeds to clean/blow it out, and run to reserve or so before refilling.  Dosing a partial tank, I get more cleanings per bottle of cleaner.

This is the stuff I like to hear.

I stick to "Seafoam" but I will run a full can of it on a half tank of gas in the spring even thought I have a few ounces of in the full tank for stabilizer while it sits for the winter.

Snake oil some say and I think they're right ........... dang good snake oil!  cooldude

Its surprising isn't it how you get used to something when it sneaks up on you. I guess you've become a Techron fan now.

I have out of habit been using 1 oz of MMO and 1 oz of Techron in every refill of every bike Ive had since forever.
If its got something plugged Techron will eventually pop it out.
Plus better mileage to boot.
Costs more, but well worth it in keeping things gas powered clean.

I use TECHRON every 3rd or 4th tank.

I usually pour some in the tank just before filling it and I had a cap not reset once (my fault) and the bottle leaked all over my saddle bag.

Got me to thinking, why don't they come out with a motorcycle tank size container?

Something like a single serving ketchup package with a tear off tab.

Or, maybe they could make a stable product that the user could just throw in the tank and the gasoline would dissolve it, something like dishwasher machine soap tabs.

Just thinking.

Back in the olden days, we used those drop in tablets. They called them moth balls. The old, cheap ones were 99% naphtha which is what most carb cleaners are. Most of the new moth balls are something else.

Lawn mower shops sell packets of stabil that treats 5 gallons. It's in a tear open pouch. The marketer is Brigs and Stratton.

Stabil is just a gas treatment so you can leave a tank of gas set for awhile.  If you need to clean out the carbs, Stabil is not what you want.
