What are the symptoms of the rear wheel dampers starting to go bad?  I've got a funny (funny strange, not funny haha) issue with my Goldwing, but no Goldwing riders I've ever talked to had to replace theirs.  Also, the timing of when it started indicates it might be something else, but I figured I should at least ask.  Thanks in advance.

It could actually be other components like the splines or u-joint.  I had a slight vibration in my footpegs under light throttle when coasting then applying power.  My u-joint had a small amount of play.  While I had it apart I replaced the dampers with the neoprene ones that one of our members makes.  All the looseness and vibration went away.

If they are bad, and Gary´s fit for Wings, i would say, buy them new from Gary. If Gary doesn´t have them for Wings (are they the same as for the Valk?)....we wrapped them with thin copper foil. This way, they fit tight in the rim, that minimizes the slop a bit. Again, better are the Polyurethane dampers from Gary.

I don't think he makes them anymore.
