a quick summary of the ride....Friday morning we met up with Smokin'joe and the far south riders and headed north up I-81...we were expecting more bikes to make the ride but 30 rolled out of Wytheville raring to go....all the stops went right on time and we didn't lose anyone...after the second stop we ran into a heavy rain storm and a small tornado...half the group rode thru it and half stopped to let it pass....we all knew where the next stop was and we waited there for the group to get together, we also picked up some more bikes at the last stop...next stop Pa. welcome center and on to the hotel where another 100 bikes were waiting for our arrival....lots of smiles and handshakes...off to supper and a social gathering that night....next morning we were off to the battlefield...Rick Nay took one group and the rest went with our tour guide, about 75 bikes...after about 2 hours of touring together we broke off in to smaller groups and did our own thing....there were Valkyries everywhere you went in Gettysburg...I can't tell you how many times I was asked hey what's going on all these Valks in town....that night we had our free raffle with items donated by Michael Terry and we had donations from other folks too, sorry I'm not sure who....Noah Ms. Old Skool's son was our MC for the raffle and he did a great job, we did things alittle different when you had a winning ticket you came up and you would go to where the prizes were and picked whatever you wanted, this worked out good and Oss was the big winner with the first ticket...later Joe got a raffle going for 10 bucks a ticket, winner takes all, someone was going to get a free weekend and then some...that winner was Razor, he won it all and headed south with over $500 bucks...a great time for all.... Next year we're heading to Bardstown, Ky. home of great Ky. roads to ride, good food, ridge runners and moonshiner's, Makers Mark, Jim Beam and Jack Daniels and many more distillerie's to tour, also home to the George Patton War museum, suppose to be a awesome tank display there... the hotel we're hoping to get has reasonalble rates, pool, restaurant and bar and plenty of places to kick tires, next store is a service station and car wash....as soon as we get more info we'll keep ya posted, we hope you can join us next year for The Whiskey Road Ride-In...we see ya at the next event.

Well... my brief dodge out of retirement really screwed up our riding plans for the spring/ early summer.....won't let that happen next year!!!!!! Sitting on a boat now in the middle of the Gulf.... waiting for the ROV to come to deck so we can have it re-fit for the next phase of work. Have enjoyed the stories and pics from the Gettysburg ride!!!!!!!
Can't wait til the whiskey run!!!!!! maybe I can learn somethin' 'bout makin' whiskey!!!!!!!

Count me in ...only 1678 miles. This time I'll take a little more time and skip the 800+ mile a day ride.

When you come to the fork in the road, take it Yogi Berra (Don't send it to me C.O.D.)

Razor was kind enough to donate some $$$ towards Noah's college fund. I wonder if it got spent on Mazda stuff

I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music.

I've said this before but " The Blue / Gray Ride " will rank in the top 3 rides I've been on since I became a VRCC member folks that missed this one missed one of the best we've taken. Seems everyone enjoyed the event and it sure was cool that no matter where you was that weekend in the Gettysburg area you saw Valkyries . Lookin' forward to " The Whiskey Run " next year...Bring It...LET'S RIDE
