I just replace the splines, rear gear, u-joint, dampers and rear tire in my 98 Tourer with 90,000 miles the u-joint was ready bad and I still have a small vibration I can feel in my hands. It's driving me nuts! I even replaced the front tire (old one was cupped). Any ideas?

still have a small vibration I can feel in my hands !!!!! Quote. Would this not be in the front of the bike ? How could a rear wear part transfer to bars ? Not being a smarta$$, just want to know.

Don't know the physics of it. My buddy's rear spokes were loose on his Harley, the symptom was horrible head shake... after looking for it where you think it is, you'll have to go looking in the other places, it must be something... -Mike

A recent rear left bearing left me "buzzing" in the handle bars and the highway pegs.

Is ther a diference in vibration at low or high speeds? On decellration or accelleration? If it's at a low speed, most likely this could be in your steering stem. It might only just need to be tightend. See link:http://www.motorcycleproject.com/motorcycle/text/shucking.html

could be a bent drive shaft.I had a vibration at high speed an found out the shaft had a 16th bend in it .I checked it with a indicator .I put it in a lathe an fixed it an now it is within .005.It was like that from the factory

Jack, you really need to be more specific about the occurrence surrounding the vibration as pointed out by Capt.Ron.
The vibration amplitude is an important factor in determining what's going on.
With all of the work you have already done it would seem there is nothing more to do and just replacing more parts won't necessarily cure your problem.
Rechecking the balance and run-out of the tires is something I would suggest, but there again, without more input from you doing so may be a futile exercise.

Just got back from a 1000 mile ride. The vibration starts at about 45 MPH when I'm giving it gas I can feel it in the handbars it's very slight and very little at highway speeds. Everthing looks good but the new rear Avon does have a lot of weight on it. My dealer said he would check out it out, but now I just want to ride

At 45mph in 4th or 5th gear when you open the throttle you will absolutely feel some vibration. It is a good vibration and comes from the motor straining to accelerate. As you ease off the throttle or as the bike picks up more speed the vibration minimizes and goes away. Don't worry about it!

Maybe, there is another member near you? So, you could compare with a second bike, just to see, if it´s normal or abnormal vibration?

I brought this bike new and I had the work done at 88,000 miles now I have 91,000 miles on it I don't think I felt any vibration before the ujoint went bad. Maybe it's in my head. I'll let another Valk owner ride mine I'll ride his. Like I said before it's just a little vibration that I can felt. If you you would ride my Valk for the first time (a non Valk rider)you wouldn't notice it but I do.
