I am looking for a jacket to use for my ride
to Inzane.One that has air flow for the
very hot flat lands and good for warmth up
in the mountains of Colorado.
Maybe zip out liners for warm and dry.

I have a FirstGear Mesh-Tex and like it alot. However, the zip-out liner is not waterproof. I have a rain-suit for that, and actually almost never use the liner anyways. I've been considering spraying it with waterproofing spray like they make for nylon tents...Camp-Dry is a locally available brand. But I haven't tried it yet.

We just purchased a Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 from newenough.com and we like it so far. We made an extended (300mile) ride it the other day and we were about as comfortable as a rider can be in the Texas heat.  We trudge on. |

I have a vega mesh jacket with some light duty padding/armor. It is the lightest weight protection I have found.

I bought three or four joe rocket leathers from new enough.com this year.
They are most likely nearly sold out at the $100 prices they were charging.
Great jacket,heavy and protective,but vented well for hot days.

I have two Joe Rocket jackets, a Comet for 20 - 80 degrees and a Phoenix for 60 - 115 degrees. In July in Colorado you may need both, but I don't have travel room for two armored jackets, so I will wear the Phoenix. If I find myself in the cooler temps I will layer with the rain liner and, if needed, a fleece pullover that rolls into a small package.

I have a FirstGear Mesh-Tex and it is great. Even on the 90 + days in Atlanta GA the jacket is comfortable. It has armor in the elbows, shoulders, and padding in the back. Optional armor can be added to the back.

I have a 1st Gear mesh jacket that I purchased from a member here a couple years ago. It was very lightly worn when I bought it and still is because I never used it.
It's in good to very good condition. If someone can use it, I'll take $25 plus shipping, which shouldnt be much.
I think I recall it being a size Large and it has no liner and is silver in color. I wear a size 46 sport jacket and it fits me fine.

Well Carl, I've been waffling on the Co. jacket conundrum. Turns out your plan was on my short list. Two things: 1. Now I don't have to wonder where the heck I'm gonna stick that big, lumpy armored Tourmaster. I'm sticking it at home! And ---- B. I know that they'll be at least 2 peeps that could be turning blue at the higher elevations next month!  |

I wear Redhead thermal socks that keep my feet warm well into the twenties. I will carry a pair of cold weather gloves.

Wore it yesterday and today. 99 degrees with 105 heat index. Yes I sweated, but was protected and while you move it's not to bad. Just have to get use to it. Once you see all the road rash from not wearing one, well I can stand the heat and hope not to ever see if it works or not. Let me take that back, my buddy Tim went down about a month ago and it cracked his ribs and broke collar bone. Not a scratch on him but his jacket was tore up pretty good. So I have seen them work. David |

http://www.kandpleather.com/ These folks are in Swartz Creek, Michigan. They do a lot of bike shows. rallys. They're good people to deal with. I have bought two riding jackets, a pair of riding pants. Not related, connected in any way. I'm not sure what all they sell but I have bought Cortech - Tourmaster with zip out liners for cold and water proof lining.
