Will you still own your valk 10 years from now ?

Where do you think you and your valk will be in 10 years.I beleive this bike will always turn heads and be sort of a nitch bike that will always have a following.
 these bikes can certainley go the distance with proper maintanance. myself at age 58  and 03  with 17,000 miles  on it,  I believe I will have this bike as long as I can ride ...

Unless Honda does something totally unexpected, yeah, I'll still be riding my Valk in 10 years... If it wears out, I'll find another one... Nothing out there excites me these days, there's nothing I'd trade the Valk for even trade other than for financial purposes, and I just don't see that changing...

If I still have my Valkyrie ten years from now it will be pushing a half million miles, unless, of course, I add some others to share the load.  I guess I may still have this one then because I probably couldn't give it away, but it won't be alone.

I am 62 and have a 2001 valkyrie. Had 6000 miles on it when I bought it 3 years ago and has 22,000 miles on it now. It's an awesome bike.

I will be honest and say i don't know. I love this bike and don't have any plans on parting with it. I have the wants of a new bike, and i have tried a few out. I did take a full dressed bike out for a ride and it was ok. I could see myself on it. But then when i get out and ride the Valk, I just hate to come home. Something about the Valkrie that just drives me. I can't get enough. What a great bike.

The way I see it, the only way I'm gonna get rid of my Valk is if I wear this one out....and then I'm going to replace it with another Valk...or if Honda comes out with a newer/updated Valk.  

When I decided to come back to riding, I searched long and hard to find a bike that would fit me...both in size and style.  The VTX1800 was close (every HD was simply to dinky), but the Valk just did it for me.  I can see myself maybe buying (or perhaps maybe even an attempt at building) something else to play with, but at this point, I really don't see myself parting with my Valk.

Our '99 model is pushing 40K miles.  We like it a great deal but we are certainly not married to it.  As soon as something smoother, stronger, faster, more comfortable, and just plain cooler comes along we will trade up.  

Last weekend we looked closely at (but did not ride) a new Triumph T-Bird.  675lbs; 85hp, 6-speed trans, EFI, belt drive.  It showed considerable promise.  We think, however, that the T-Bird can not match, let alone top, the Valk.  In fact, we think that the motorcycle that can out-do Honda's mighty F-6 Valkyrie in all the necessary categories may be a long time coming.  A very long time indeed...

I bought my 2000 I/S  in 2004 with 12,000 on her , She only has 40,000 now, so even if I would find a new ride I think I'll still keep her . My last ride was a 1978 KZ1000 which I had til the Valkyrie need new tires in 2004. Love that Valk!!

Seems so odd, that your mentality can change after such a short period of time. I always considered the motorcycle a luxury, toy, distraction, pleasure craft etc... I got my 98 just two months ago. I can't believe I did not find this ride sooner. I finally think of myself as a biker, or whatever term you want to call someone who considers their motorcycle a primary means of transport. If all else in my day sucks, I get a 30-40 minute vacation from crap twice a day. Short of tornadoes or ice on the roads I am gonna get a ride in somewhere in my day. The car sits for days at a time now, who needs it? I cannot see myself getting rid of this scooter and have every intention of getting another one so I can wrench on one and still have a ride.

I'll ride it and keep it going to see how close I can get to that goal.
I've put 60,000+ miles on it so far, so I'm not far away from 1/3 of the way. May take a good ten years to put on the 200thousand miles I need to reach my goal.
It's good to have goals.
I didn't get the XS11 to 100,000 miles. If I could have kept the 2nd gear from wearing out I probably would have. Lord knows I tried to make it go.
Ten years? What's ten years. My goal is 300thousand miles.

Man you guys sure are making it tough for me to make up my mind whether to sell my I/S or let it set for a couple years.  It is a much harder decision than I thought it would be.   Rode it today and did something stupid---but thank the Lord when I called on the "Black Rose" to get me out of it she responded with power to spare and saved my a___!  What a ride!!!

No doubt.  I have little F-6 emblems flowing in my blood stream.  If I'm alive I am on a Valkyrie.  Like Serk said, ain't nothin' out there that compares.

I will still have both of mine in 10 years.  The trike and my standard are my last motorcycles, even if something new comes out the valks stay.  I have enough parts stashed including a spare full engine to rebuild just about anything that could go wrong even if all the parts dry up.

i've had mine 12 years in JULY. just rolled over 100k miles. i think...it is VERY probably....i'll have it still in 10 years! i might hang on to it until i die? since DDT (where is that rascal...haven't seen nor heard from him since CHEAHA...and we're practically neighbors????????) has 380k+ miles....i figure mine won't quite have 200k in 10 years. So...it should be good for probably at least another 15-20 years minimum. I turn 53 TOMORROW  So....that takes me out to 73. So..............you do the math.........it's lookin' good right now

When Kawasaki came out with the new Concourse, I was showing a picture of it to my wife telling her how much I would love to have that bike.  And she says, "You've done so much to your bike, why would you want to get rid of it?"  I said, "Who said anything about getting rid of my Valk??"

I'd like to think I'll still have it in 10 years.  This is the 3rd street bike that I've owned since I started riding 18 years ago.  I had a 1977 Kawi KZ1000 from 1991 to 1995, a 1994 Suzuki RF900RR from 1995 to 1999, and this 1999 Valk from 2001 to present.  So this is already the longst I've kept the bike.  And I actually regret selling both of my previous bikes and wish I had them both back.  So hopefully, I've learned a lesson there.

On the other hand, I would like another bike.  I still really like the Concourse and I'd love a new Wing (I think that would help me get the wife out more), and maybe a dual sport or adventure tourer like a V-strom or even a Buell Ulysses.  My buddy has a Ulysses and it is a pretty cool bike.  But either way, I think I'll be keeping the Valk.

This bike is so versatile, I went back to a bike tire, just to compare! boy was that a mistake. ready for another tire. dont need to say what is going back on it. Ride'em till you can't ride'em any more and pass it down to the kid. Ride hard and safe.

  In ten years I will be 71    I have history of hanging on to bikes I like - I still have my 1981 CB 900 Custom Honda that I purchased in 82 - lets's see 27 years now    I may add another bike or 2 to the stable, likeley will hang onto the Valk, if  I get back to work I may buy a spare, I see deals every once in a while
