If your alternator is bad other than the brushes, this is the Gold Wing unit that will work. I helped Keith do his. Just look at the old one and spin the cover 120 degrees, I think it was the front one so that it looks like the Valkyrie alt. I think it was about $200 for this one, about $100 cheaper than the Valkyrie alt.

"The terminal & plastic insulator are different where you connect the alternator battery wire. You have to take off the capacitor that is mounted on the Gold Wing alternator and rotate the front housing to match the holes from the Valkyrie model so that it will fit."

Thanks Terry. I was going to look that # up later tonight. I'm going to check the wires & fuses first then pull the alt. & have it checked out at a local shop. I'll slow charge the battery & hope I didn't kill it completely.

So now I have a Valk with a busted bag, a Valk with charging problems, a Shadow in the process of being brought back from the dead, & Kim's Valk that runs & looks perfect!
One out of four.... Yikes!!
