Guys,
A few weeks ago i asked about the correct start up from cold on my Valk.
i went out to say hello to her this morning after not seeing her for over a month.
The instruction you gave me was, full choke no throttle. before I went through that procedure, I spoke a few nice words to her, rubbed her down and told her she is the most beautiful girl in the world and i would like to ask her.
In order to get a reply i gave her all the choke she wanted gave her a kiss, then turned her on--------
--- then she BOOOOMED  to life with a ROOOARR, then she purred like a kitten.
So thanks for your help, now, Im just about to get on my leathers (she loves leather) and go on a BIG DATE. YAHOOOOO!!!!!

But when it's above 50 F, try starting her with no choke. The only time I need to choke mine is below 50. FWIW   coolsmiley

First time starting in the spring I have the choke on and I have to give it lots of gas. It will start on 1 then 2 then 3 and then they all fire up.
I use the choke to start up both of my Valk's all the time when cold. They start better without choke they will start but then die with no choke

My bike's name is Lady Val, my wife's name is Susan.  I talk to both of them and both of them talk to me in their own way.  Both of them start right up when I push the right buttons.   Wink

I hope I,m not harping, but that sounds like the choke is not all the way closed.  Push down hard when it feels like it's all the way to the bottom. You can help it with the last quarter inch with a flat nose screw driver against the rails on side of the carbs.  Lips Sealed  Hoser

Hoser, you are correct, thats exactly what i was not doing, I thought the choke was fully on but there was another 1/4 inch left. I pushed more, and boom, she fired up.
i cant understand why it is stiff to push that last 1/4 inch, feels like i could break a cable.
Believe me, i fill her with gas, i check the oil levels etc etc, but i know nothing about mechanics.
Anything I have learned is from you guys, anything i want to know, I get it from you guys.
Anyway, im considering selling my Valk for one reason, I have arthritis in both knees and it aint comfy to ride anymore.
i bought it with 4,576 miles and put up only 500  miles on it. She has every extra imaginable all honda and all Valkyrie merchandise, no strobe lights though may I say, anyway she has to go very sadly.
Thats life!!

Because you are pushing 6 carbs.

My GW feels like I'm doing nothing at all it moves so freely, even freer than my Shadow VT1100T.
