I assume a few are going to Leesburg Bike-fest.  Any one want to meet up for a late breakfast or Early lunch.  There is a Perkins Restaurant on 27811 Route 27 Leesburg, FL 34748
352-314-2582 That is a block or so north of Cr48 on US27 on the east side of 27. I figure on being there around 10 am .

Todd and I will see you there, Grumpy.  Our friend (new member "Bob M") will be joining us. So add two Interstates to the beautification project that will be taking place in the Perkins parking lot.

Hey Grumpy,

I plan to be there to join you.  You bringing Murphy?

Are you going up 33 or 27?

I think Murphy will go, I usually go up 301 to 50 then left on 471 and take it past Webster, then right on 478, that runs into CR 48 that intersects with 33 a couple miles from US27. Shortest for me and mostly 2 lane back roads.

Time permitting, I'll be there as well. Pretty close to the time we will be returning North for the summer, and it would be nice to say good-bye.

Welcome, Sheffjs! Glad you could join us. Todd and I happened to meet Sherry, her husband, and her brother in the same manner as the VRCC Florida riders found us...by chance. We were eating breakfast in Mulberry and saw two bodacious Valks parked out front. Of course a conversation ensued wherein the men talked about recent farkles and the women talked about cute biker clothes. Go figure. Can't wait for our newest members to meet everyone at Leesburg breakfast. They're really nice folks and have the best looking bikes ever!

Sounds like Rita's daughter is driving up about that time so I've been given the OK. Wish I had the energy to pull down the rear end on the bike before then, needs a good going over. Don't guess another short trip will hurt anything.

Looking forward to the ride.  cooldude

Larue, we're meeting at 8:30am Saturday at the Home Depot on Lee Rd. just off I-4. That's one more exit up from the Fairbanks exit when we met at the gas station last time. Hope to leave shortly after that, will take some nice backroads over to where we're all meeting for lunch...about 45-47 miles.

The Lakeland meetup (5 bikes strong!) is 8:00 am, at the McDonalds at 5525 Walt Loop Rd, Lakeland, FL 33809. I believe that would be Exit 33 off I-4, but there's a turn or two so definitely check out the Google Map: http://goo.gl/maps/uNwyF.

Then Greg (aka F6MoRider) is going to lead us through the hinterlands of Polk County and on to the Perkins.

I know of a back way from the Perkins to the 75 Chrome Shop that will completely bypass Leesburg traffic & SR44. There is a bit of road construction on SR44, not too bad though.
I'll 'splain it when we get there if anybody is interested in a group ride to the truck show after breakfast.  cooldude

Eddie, some time ago I took 470 west from 27 all the way around the south side of Lake Panasoffkee and up the west side. It comes out on SR44 about five miles west of the chrome shop. It was one of those days when I had time on my hands and wondered "where does that road go" and I never bothered to look at a map....just took off and enjoyed the ride. It would be about 30 miles from the restaurant though via that route, mostly all country.

Yup, 470 west except turning north on 301 then to 44 west to the Chrome Shop. Either that or turning north on some un-named road to 468 west joining 301 bypassing Sumterville & Coleman.
Either way gets us there all back-roady type riding except for the 301-44 intersection. Using the traffic light to turn left at that intersection will be helpful getting a group turned together.  Wink

I'll be there. I'll be accompanied by my good friend Knucklehead.... ya'll be nice to him, he's always sensitive about me having to slow down so he can keep up with me. He might be really skittish being surrounded by dragons.

By the way, what's going on with the Florida Board? I'd been absent for a good while do to being busy with work and went to post to see who might be in Leesburg this and the board was pretty much gone.

We're riding up tomorrow from West Palm and staying in Tavares. We'll meet y'all at Perkins around 10a... I'm looking forward to see the couple of you've I've met in person as well as other's I've not met yet.

It was decided to move the "Old FL Board" to this site on the Main VRCC site. Much improved, more features, easier to put up pics, etc. Have not heard anything negative.  Smiley

See you found it Tex. See you Saturday!  cooldude

Eddie & John: I'll be happy to find any way that takes us around Leesburg, and all of what goes with all of the commotion that usually goes on there. Look forward to seeing everyone!
