Rita is getting home health care now and physical therapy is one of the things she's getting. So who should show up on our doorstep for the PT this afternoon....my PT gal from last August. I saw her come to the door while watching TV, motioned her to come in and she ripped the door open and crossed the room in just a couple big jumps. Threw her arms around me in a big hug, then held me at arms length and looked me over. She was amazed at the difference from last August to now, stood there squeezing my arms and shoulders, got a little misty-eyed, then told me how glad she was I made such a recovery. She was good for me back then, a little ruthless and all business, but knew her stuff. Real sweet little gal, treated Rita as I expected, yet had her doing stuff she hadn't done in some time. Gave her some tips on getting up/down in a chair, walking with the walker, using the restroom(up/down off the commode is difficult), very good info. After about 90 minutes she was done, so we sat and chatted a bit. She kept going back to last summer, I told her that the stuff she put me through made a huge difference. When she left, I got another hug, and she got a little misty-eyed again. Was good seeing her again, I impressed on her the fact that what she did for me(and to me) made a difference. She really pushed me and it paid off. That she was glad to see.
I would like to spend a few minutes with the surgeon that I owe my life to, not sure my insurance would cover such a visit.
