Dallas area pilots who wanna help us newbies, or newbies who need the help, or anywhere in between. Thinking about July 11 or 18 at my place in Garland. If you think you are interested sound off with your preference for the day and time. If someone has a better location I am all ears, but I can empty one bay at my shop and have plenty of room to work on two maybe three at a time.

I would be interested, I have a K&N air filter I would like to get installed but worried I might mess things up since I am new with a Valk.  July 11 or 18 works for me.

Air filter is a piece of cake, which date do you prefer?

Baron, show up with an empty tank of gas, it makes installing the filter much easier.

Ghillie, I would probably just show up to hang out if it was on the 11th, I am out of town on the 18th.

Joe has some hard bags that need the lights wired into the system.  We will make arrangements to be there. Just say when and where. L

I might be interested also, if only to hand someone a wrench.  11th or 18th either work for me, early before it gets too hot.

I should be able to make it on the 11th in the AM.

And Doc, when we put the relay in for Joe's light bar, I didn't think about an in-line fuse. We really should add one.
I believe I have one in the garage.

This is shaping up really nice, I tt Dave in Frisco and he might make it at well. I am not sure about all the pertinent tools so if you have your favorites, bring em. If anyone has a D tool for the pilot screws I would like to run mine in and back them out to a uniform setting.

Saturday July 11th. I'll be at the shop about 8:30. 218 Garvon in Garland, sits between hwy 66 and hwy 78 just off 1st.

Wrenching sounds great.  I'll plan on (finally) removing my broken-tabbed center cover and replacing it with a good one so I can hang my un-cracked, un-scratched, no-black-electrical-taped right side cover!

Thanks for putting this together, Ghillie.

For those who are coming, the main part of my lot is gravel, be careful when coming through the gate. I have dropped mine a couple of times when I was not paying attention. There is a large concrete pad in front of the building so plenty of safe space to park.

Chris,

Thanks for hosting the wrench party and thanks to everyone for helping me out.  I took some pics and they are located at the following link.

Many thanks to Ghillie, Connor, and Heather for hosting and helping Baron, Doc/Joe, and me with our projects!

A big personal thank you to everyone who helped with my center cover R&R.  Note to the service manual: Everything is MUCH easier when the petcock dial is removed and the rear of the tank is raised.

It was great to see Darryl (sp?) from Arlington again - last time was the wrench party at Vermithax's.  It was great to have Valkpilot show up for his first wrench party.  It was great to have Mike Thompson ('wing) and Ronny Hamilton (IS) (handles?) show up and hang out for a while.

And a special thank you to Baron for taking the pic to prove that I do have, work on, and ride a Valkyrie!   Grin

When should we do the next one?  Group de-smog?

I had a great time and although I am sure my place is not the most central for everyone, it is always available for a wrench party. I just met Ronny yesterday, if he has a monicker I don't know it. Mike is known as Smokey, if you ever have some of his BBQ you will understand why.

I figure after IZ there are bound to be a few tweaks and fixes, if ya want to do one here just say when.

Just a few of the folks that showed up for the fun...

Unless I miss my guess, we will all be working for Connor one of these days!

Turn about is fair play, Chris! If you need any help on a little project, don't hesitate! Thanks for hosting! ~Jeff
