I am sure most of you know Murphy who rides with me quite a lot.  He is having heart problems, very slow heart beat. He is going to a cardiologist tomorrow for some tests. It is bad enough he passed out from it. Needless to say, I don't think he will be making the Corbin trip unless the doctors can correct the problem.  Please keep him in your prayers, he is scared about what is happening to him. Real great guy, praying for him to come through this OK.

Bill, keep us updated, sounds like a pacemaker is in his future. He's a fine man, always enjoyed chatting with him. If you can, let him know we have him covered in the prayer dept.  cooldude

I just recently had a friend that knew somthing was not right and went to his regular doctor who sent him to another heart guy or specialist anyway.  The specialist told him to go across the street to the hospital and make an appointment for a pacemaker the next day which he did and he said all is fine now, so if that is what he needs, tell him to go for it.

Tell Murphy to listen to what the Docs will tell him. There is lot's of help out there, and many smart Docs, but none are as powerful as our Lord and Saviour!  angel

Tell Murphy we are praying for peace for his family, and for comfort, compleat and speedy healing for him. Hey, he's an old Air Force guy, and we're tougher than many give us credit for.  Smiley

T he guy I work with got a pacemaker on a Friday and was at work Monday.  He was 72 when they installed it.  Our job is high stress and requires travel.  I did make him take it easy for the week.

Hope Smurf does as well.

Just got off the phone with Murphy, he is home but being monitored for pulse rate etc. He goes back to the cardiologist on the 17th and will know more then. He is off the stogies etc. If he does not improve by then, most likely will get a pacemaker. But good news his spirits are up. Still keeping him in prayers until this is resolved. I told him about the responses here, and he give his sincere thanks to all.

Prayers sent. He will most likely undergo a battery of tests for this. The most telling being a test for hypothyroidism. I was on the opposite end of the spectrum prior to my heart surgery. Scary? Yes....facing your mortality is a sobering event. Fortunately medical intervention is quite adept at treating either one....fast or slow rhythm.
