Can some of you Northern Florida riders let us know when the love bugs have cleared? I know they are thick in Pasco, Hernando and Citrus Counties as well as South of the Skyway.

No I'm not looking for any, Just trying to avoid them.
Riding circles around the Pinellas County Peninsula is getting old. How long do they last? About a month? I don't know why, but they are never a problem in Pinellas County, maybe the Gulf Breeze, being surrounded by water?

Usually start in May, sometimes last week of April here and last about a month.  Then again in September same same.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lovebug

About the third or so paragraph down it says April/May for the spring flight.

Ya'll know about using hydrogen peroxide on them, right?  It neutralizes their body acid and makes removing them easy.  I carry a spray bottle and spray them at every stop.

Ride home from Miami was accompanied by tons of them. Every gas stop was a windscreen cleaning stop too. Was out for a ride yesterday here in PCB and not one on the screen.

Just got back from a 150 mile ride around central Florida and only four lovebugs. Wonderful riding without the bugs!  I hate those pesky little creatures.

Just got back from an afternoon ride up thru Branford, across to Chiefland and back to Gainesville. Hit about 20 of the nasty bugs. Defineately thinning out.

Yes, they appear to be diminishing. I rode to Ocala yesterday and only killed 7.
