Last Saturday my parents were coming back from Los Algodones Mexico and were just on the other side of Yuma, going 80 mph when the back left tire blew!  My mother was just freaking out!  My father now had to change a tire in 100+ temperatures while his wife (mom) kept screaming in fear of dieing!

I don’t know who it was, but some super nice people stopped to help them out.  A man and his wife, pulled over to help change the tire and the lady calmed my mom down (really not an easy task!).  I’m so glad that there are people like myself out there also.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon driving to LA when we stopped to help out a guy that had a flat tire just over the Colorado border into Utah.  He had been there for over an hour saying that no one would stop to help and that he didn’t have a spare tire.  So, I put my spare tire on his car and when I was putting his flat into his trunk, that’s when I saw that he had a spare behind a hide away flap.  I’m sure I made him feel pretty stupid after I took out his spare.  But he was really thankful that we stopped anyway!

We so often think that people are out to harm us, or that you’ve probably got help on the way since everyone’s got a cell phone now a days, or the police will help them.  What ever it is, it doesn’t hurt to stop anyway.

Whom ever you are, thank you!!

Years ago, my wife got a flat tire after picking up the boys from school.  She was on some back roads and the boys were to young to help.  A gentleman stopped to change the tire.  It was daylight and there was other traffic on the road, so she felt safe.  She offered to pay him since I was still at work and this was before cells phones.  He refused, told her to tell me to help the the next person I saw with a flat tire. Kind of a pay it forward thing.  Two weeks later I'm driving and see a woman and her elderly father getting out of the car and looking at their flat tire.  Pulled right up behind them and changed it. They offered to pay me, I refused and told them about what happened to my wife.  They thanked me and were off.  I have changed several more tires since then and always refuse the money and ask they the males in the house do the same.

I have also told my boys this and they will help when needed.

Quote; going 80 mph when the back left tire blew.  That in it`s self is a blessing that he was able to change a tire on this Earth. Glad he was able to control and bring to a stop.  cooldude
