Just wanted to let everyone know that Pharmboy got rear ended yesterday in Ft. Worth.  He had X-Rays and cat-scan and appears to be ok, just having severe spasms.  Some careless cager succeeded in doing what the NVA couldn't do at the Tet Offensive, send him to the hospital!

Let's all wish him a speedy recovery in time for Inzane.

JimL thanks for the email...  I thought about PharmBoy today and was going to call him and talk about his new truck stacks he just installed last week  Undecided

Pharmboy,  Hope you get to feeling better soon...  I had to read JimL email twice to digest the news...  Your in my thoughts and prayers buddy!!  If there is anything I can do let me know...  I have a "like new" complete rear fender if you need it I can bring it down to you on thursday July 9th.  Let me know what parts you need and I will start hunting down them for you.

This is exactly why I have wired up some Whelan Lin3 red strobe lights that mount on both sides of my license plate.  I had a similar instance last year when a lady removed her foot off the brake and rolled into me.

Get to feeling better man!!

I want you all to know that I really appreciate all these kind words, prayers, and well wishes.  After 3 hours in Harris County Hospital Emergency Room with X-rays & cat-scan, got the good news that there are no broken bones.  However any hurried move or any deep breath results in extreme chest pain starting under the right sholder blade and radiating throughout the chest area.  Needless to say, I am moving rather slowly and planning everything in advance.  I think that the problem is some bruised ribs from my little bounce off the pavement.  Only time will take care of that.  I have muscle relaxers and pain medication that dull the pain some when I forget and move a bit hurriedly.

The bike really looks almost unhurt at first glance, but there are a lot of parts that either need paint or replacing.  I have been at my son's house in McKinney, Texas for a couple of days now.  He drove the bike down to Maxim Honda in Plano, Texas for an estimate on the damages.  They only wanted $97.50 for an estimate.  I could only guess what the bill would be to fix the damages. Seems to be the typical "Steeler".  "Let me see the color of your money and then we will see how much more of it we can get." The damages were all cosmetic, thank goodness.  My son says that it rides and drives just like it always did and I am thankful for that.

Again, I want to thank you all for your concerns.  As I have said many times before, "This is the greatest group going in the motorcycle world."...JTL

Gettin' run over  smackin' a deer and someone turning into my path are the only thing's I fear about ridin' a motorcycle . IMO you would be better off just buying the parts you need from fellow Valk riders or Flea-Bay that's how I re-built my " BADMOJO " bike and it was a total ( Blue / White ) .Heal fast and best wishes  cooldude

HAY!!  Pharmboy, how goes it?  Are the ribs healing any, only you can tell.  I know the feeling, crashed snow skiing 5 years ago and remember the feeling like it was yesterday.  Controlled "little" coughs and NO SNEEZING AT ALL!!!

Hope you are getting back to normal, or abby normal, which ever that is.

John it happened to me last year.   I was sitting at a light.  (left lane, second car back.)  As I approached the stop light I found myself at an intersection with only two lanes and the left lane yields to cross traffic.  (no designated left turn only lane) I hate these intersections and as I approached in the left lane the vehicle stopped in front of me was turning left and had his signal on.  I looked to move to the right lane but a public bus was there and I couldn't get over.  So I moved to the right side of the left lane thinking, "this should help the vehicle behind me see that the guy in front of us is not going to go cause he is going to yield until he can turn left".   So the light turned green, traffic coming to us was moving and we weren't.  I had both feet down, brakes were on, and waited until he cleared the intersection before releasing the brakes so that the car behind me knew I was stopped.  Then suddenly I feel this bump and look over my right shoulder and see this headlight up against my saddle bag...  For Fudge Sake Lady, WTF!!!

I then put my kick stand down got off the bike and took my helmet off and asked the lady if she was okay.  (might have had a seizure or stroke...  seen it before)  And she said that she was fine and asked me if I was okay and then I let her have a piece of my mind and what I was thinking.  She said she was sorry and that she didn't see any damage.  I said nope, we are calling the cops.   We went across the way and parked at an O'reillys and even being pissed off I still managed to find a part of me that wanted to be nice to the folks in the car so I went in the store and bought everyone a lemonade.   I ended up having about a $1,000 dollars in damages and later found out that my saddle bag hardware was bent and I had to straighten that out later.

But, you know some folks just don't pay attention.  You will no who I am at inzane.. I will have the black valkyrie Interstate and the bright a$$ lights mounted on both sides of the license plate.  They light up for miles when applied.  I checked with local authorities and they didn't blame me and said that most cops won't get on you if they realize it is more for the safety than the look.  So don't ride behind me if you don't like seeing bright red lights when I brake.  Pharmboy already told me I have to ride in the back...   tickedoff

That's okay at least the cagers will see us in front of them.    cooldude      I have had vehicles behind close in on me pretty quick on the highways at night... I squeeze my brakes enough to trigger the lights and you would be amazed at how fast they back off!!

Get to feeling better Pharmboy, we have 9 days before we leave Grin

You are just as dead if the person runs into you is stupid, distracted, in a hurry, wanted to kill you, ..............................etc............

All the excuses and I am sorry's don't fix a damn thing, you are dead.

I usually do not get directly behind someone. That way if I get shoved forward or see them coming I have some room to move or at least land.

Thanks again folks!  I am now feeling a lot better.  It seems that every day that goes by is better than the one before.  That first week was pretty tough.  I still have some tinder spots and I'm not going to try to get back in the saddle for another 4 or five days.  I have some parts ordered that should be here shortly.  Parts wise, my biggest disappointment was that Carolina Bike & Trike is no longer making those super good looking saddlebag guards.  I called and talked at length with Mr. Teeple and he explained how it was not a money making proposition for him with the cost of skilled labor and the chroming expense.  I can understand that.  He was on his way to pick up the last set at the chrome plater's as we talked.  Of course, they were already sold!  I took the bent up guards off and that old black I/S still looks good, But it just isn't the same without the saddlebag guards on it.  I'll keep my eyes open for a "like new" set of OEM guards.  I'm still hoping that I can make it to Inzane.  Of course I still have a pickup and trailer, but that wouldn't be near as much fun.  If I get to go, I'll come rolling up on two wheels.  Hope to see "all yall" there!  (That's Okie for "use guys"!)...JTL  Grin
