Thanks for the FB post Daniel, as you correctly surmised some of us are not on that network.

Even though it was very difficult to read thru watering eyes, the new information is good to know. Thank you also to our fine VRCC brethren there on the scene that have been helping Lori, I think I can speak for the entire club when I say we appreciate very much that you are providing services that we wish we were able to ourselves.

Continued prayers for a complete recovery and for strength for the family. Carl and Lori know that the members of this club stand by to help in any way we can.

Lots of diabetes sufferers here it seems, myself included. Carl's tragedy may just save a live or two, so lets add this precaution to the long list of things to be guarding against. I rarely suffer the low sugar, mine usually runs too high. The blood pressure meds they put you on for diabetes can drop your BP and this has caused a blackout once even though I don't suffer from low BP.  So blood pressure problem riders on those meds should also be cautious. This tragedy could have been as bad even worse had he been in a cage.
I continue to pray for the family and Carl as he starts the healing. If anyone knows of anything the family needs, please make it known, as I believe this family will band and respond.

This has been a long day for many, Carl and Lori obviously, but also for many of us whose guts drop at the news of an accident. I had a bad feeling when Carl did not show for the Kansas get together, as I had been told he was coming. I even mentioned it to Valkhound I was a bit worried that Carl in particular had not showed. As we were saying our goodbyes the dreaded call came and the look on Teryl's face said it all! We gathered and prayed and then bid our farewells for our rides home.

Solemn, is all I can say was my trip home, it was good to be in the wind, but my heart and mind were not in the ride. I prayed all the way home. I joined this board just before Old Skol was taken from you, I never met Steve, but would have liked too! Then just a short time later Carl had his wreck coming home from church. I had not met anyone at this point, but the outpour that I saw from people, from across the country, convinced me that this was a group I would like to be part of. Since then I have had the privilege of meeting Carl, Lori, and many others. I always enjoy riding and visiting with Carl and look forward to doing that again.  Carl has always impressed me with his cool , easy going demeanor, whistling along and yes I know it is not that way all the time, I have seen him frustrated as well. I enjoy listening to his experiences and adventures knowing full well he has more miles under his belt than I will ever be able to accomplish. But what impresses me most is Carl's faith and service to his, our, Lord and Savior. It served him well before, and it will again!

I am kind of rambling I guess as I am getting ready to go to work, but I just wanted Carl to know that my thoughts and prayers are with him and I am looking forward to sharing wind again! See you soon!

JDW

i too joined this group at about the same time. i remember mojo from ohio and others that rode to oldskools funeral. i too remember vividly of the time of carls wreck on the way home from church. i've only met lori and carl a few times, and emailed him on several occasions.
May God continue to be with you carl, lori and family. i also pray for the dr. and nurses in charge of his care.  prayers for a full and complete healing from north central ohio.  thanks for those who have posted the updates.

John and the rest of our VRCC family,

When I saw Lori’s number on my phone yesterday I didn’t answer it because we were out riding with friends and had stopped for a bite eat; figured I’d call her later on after I was home. In the next couple seconds Patrick’s phone was ringing; it was Lori. My heart fell before I even knew what was happening. I was taken back to that time in August 2008 when I answered a call from Lori telling me Carl had been in a motorcycle accident, a bad one. I’m a pretty tough cookie but when I heard what Lori was saying I lost it. Like I’m sure many of us did then and again yesterday.

When we heard from Lori yesterday she didn't know anything about Carl’s condition. Dang, not once but two times this man has been in a terrible accident. Is God’s that merciful, to let him survive another horrific accident? Well, sort of like John, I went off on my own in my mind, found it hard to concentrate on anything but Lori and Carl. I think I developed a form of turrets (not sure of the spelling); we’d be talking about something with our friends then all of a sudden I’d blurt out something wondering how Carl is, do they know anything, poor Lori.

Carl is busted up good; but is still with us. I was, as I’m sure many were, very concerned we lost him this time.

Sorry, I know I’m rambling a bit. But I think many of us are feeling a bit out of sorts today. I thought of nothing better than to share with my VRCC family.

I know Carl and his God have things all worked out between them; Carl is a faithful man, that along with all the prayers out there for Lori and Carl, he’s going to be fine. He will heal and fully recover from this. I guess it’s okay to question God because he’s a big boy and can take it. I am questioning God a bit because how can he let something like this happen to Lori and Carl; not only once but twice. God says we will suffer; there are countless times in the Bible where suffering is talked about. I get it; but it’s in times like this I don’t understand why. I also know we’re not supposed to understand; but trust and have faith. Faith is believing in something we can’t see. So, I personally know I can’t see my God but he is with me always, He’s with Carl and Lori too. Also, we may never know what it is, but there will be good out of this terrible thing that happened to someone we all love so much.

Thank you putting up with my rambling.

I LOVE this club and the people in it. We are blessed beyond measure.

Blessings and Love,
Carolyn

Carolyn
God never promised there wouldn't be trouble only that He would be there through it with us. It was not by the good times that I came to find the Lord it was at one of the worst times in my life. Now I look at that time and say it was the best time because of that one fact. Life changed and paused and I came to know Him in His love and saving power. If things had gone along as normal I doubt that I would have come to Him. While we do have a enemy and sometimes its his works that causes the trouble and bad times God also made us this promise
Rom 8:28  And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Rom 8:29  For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
Rom 8:30  and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
Rom 8:31  What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
As Job suffered for awhile God blessed him abundantly after the time of his trials. As you said God did not see fit to take Carl from us at this time. What a blessing that is since I have seen others in a similar situations in cars that were taken at the scene. I just continue to pray for Carl's healing and protection.
