VRCC#24130 - VRCCDS#0117 - IBA#48473

Arlington, TX

« on: May 18, 2013, 07:04:30 PM »

Not a big gathering, but we had good bbq and shared some lies in Fort Worth.  Saw the longhorns herded down the street and the souvenirs they left behind.   Capt Speedo, WDAN, Stormrider, Six Guns, Big Ed, Stretch and the Miller family were there.

WDAN will be having some work done on his heart in the upcoming weeks so we need to keep him in our prayers as the fix his ticker.

We discussed a lot of stuff, but one thing was an idea for a ride in June that will start at the Cotton Gin in Crandall and end up at Vaughn's on Lake Bob Sandlin on a Sunday for some all you can eat catfish.  There is a possible wrench party being planned as well so we'll wait and see when the wrench party takes place before we plan the ride.

Our next dinner meeting will be back to our normal time, Thursday, June 13th at 7:00PM.

Don't forget that elections are coming up in July.  ValkPilot will become president and we'll be electing a new vice-president, who will then become president in 2014.  The Rainmaker will fade into obscurity on that day........

Also, keep Willow (Carl Holmes) in your prayers as he recovers from a really nasty accident today in Kansas.

Man, it was great to get to see everyone again!!!!!  It was worth spending a vacation day just to hang out.  After we all split up I went to the Harley stealership on 183 and wanted to look at a 99 Valkyrie Interstate I saw a few days ago.  Lots of chrome, CB, Fog lights in the pods, just did not have the saddle bag lower rails.  60,000 miles and stock exhaust.  $9800 they wanted for it.  Ran across Gary and his daughter on his Gold Wing and I believe Lone Wolf from Ft Worth.  I hope I got Wolf's handle right.  All in all it was a great day.  Hope everyone made it home safely.

In this wild and wolly world, there are only 3 things you can depend on, your brains, your bros, and your bike.  Ride free!!!

A good friend will bail you out of jail.  A true friend will be sitting next to saying "Damn, That Was Fun"
