Hi Everyone,

We're back with a few more questions. Thank you for all your previous help. Here's the problems we're having now. We changed out many of the sub harness wires and for the most part, everything is working except the high beams, gas gauge, and the thermostat light stays red. By the way, the low beams do work. I didn't  hear the fan come on when we went on our maiden voyage. Thank you in advance for any help...we are amateurs after all.   Cheesy

My fan very seldom comes on. The temp has to be hot and going slow, maybe 25 mph or less.

Do you have a fuel sending unit installed in the tank? If not, that's why it won't work. If you do, check to make sure the unit is okay.

On your thermostat light staying on. I had a similar issue when I put and IS fairing on my 98 STD.

The I/S uses a different sensor. Item 9.

The STD/Tour used this sensor up till '99 when the I/S came out. I think that but not 100 percent sure. Again item 9.

The older sensor also used a relay under the left side cover. Since I was using an I/S harness I didn't have the relay and my light was on all the time. I swapped in the I/S sensor up by the thermostat and it corrected the issue. The older and newer sensor have different type connections on them. I just changed the end on my sub-harness when I put in the newer sensor.
