I have a 2000 Standard. Had a new tire put on front and dealer (independent) asked me if I had hit something with the front fender. He said as he was installing the wheel back on the bike, he noticed the clearance on the right side was about 3/8" and on the left about 1/8". I have not hit anything and fender does not appear to be bent. Reckon he could have done something wrong when installing the wheel?

Have you ridden the bike after the change? He might have misaligned the front wheel/axle. If it makes any strange noise while rolling, take it back and have the front redone.

Rub your finger over the axle head where it goes through the fork.

Is it flat?

If not take it back to him and tell him to install the wheel correctly.
