Really glad to hear you are on the road and the bike is running right Bradb.

I'm glad everything turned out well with your carb cleaning, however...

I had this same problem when I first bought my Valkyrie Interstate 1999.  The carbs getting "dirty" was actually a symptom not the root cause.  What actually turned out to be the issue was "dust rust" in the tank.  I cleaned everything (carbs, tubes, etc.) and removed the tank.  Turned the tank upside down and used a water hose with a jet nozzle and sprayed the heck out of the inside of the tank.  After several sprays until no more particles came out, I used SeaFoam to do the final cleaning and allowed the tank to dry for a couple of days.  One more rinse with SeaFoam AND installation of a visual filter between the gas tank and the carburetors.  Haven't had another problem for about 4 years now.  The filter traps any particles coming out of the tank before the carbs.

Hope this helps.

And...I SeaFoam at least once per month. Just 2 ounces per tank of gas
