WOW ! Glad to hear you're going to be OK. Also glad that you had the presence of mind to keep thinking clearly. That had to be one hell of a ride. And all this time I thought your name was Chris. Take care.

WOW ChrisJ, you truly have an angel with you. The good lord was looking out for you. I am so glad you will recover. Just follow your doctors direction and don't push it. Will your healing require some rehab? If it does remember this, the PT on your therapist name tag stands for pain and torture. I went thru 9 months of rehab for a frozen shoulder. Keep us up dated on your progress.
Praying for your quick recovery,
Brian.

How 'bout some wood chipper stories .
I know of a local guy who lost his hand in one , now he does yard work with one hand , that's how he makes a living .
I read that some crazy guy jumped into a chipper and tried to drag his girl friend in with him , he was chopped up , his girl was saved .
There's more

It only takes a split second of not using your head to get a life time of regret.
Heal well and ride safe once you can. I read about this stuff and quite frankly, it scares me. Because I know I've just been lucky. That's only gonna last for so long.

We have a dark blue Valk in the area? The only blue Valk I've seen on the streets 'round here is a Blue and Silver Interstate I've seen around a couple times on Beal Street. Is that your buddy? btw.....there's several Valk owners in the Sandollars. http://www.sandollarmotorcycleclub.com/They're VP is a buddy I've known for years. He rides a purple Fat Boy with a fairing and hard bags he's added.

ok.......progress and update. I just got off the phone with physical therapy. The torture starts Wed. The good news is that the swelling around the elbow is down some, and it feels a tad more stable when it moves. A bit "crunchy" still yet but tolerable. I got to keep the goal in mind...........47 days until the next ride on the Valkyrie........ What I am learning: One thing I have learned through my two medical challenges this last year is. We have become spoiled. We get most things so instantly now, so when we have to wait 8 weeks for something it is agonizing. We dont know how to be still and think or ponder the important things in life more than few minutes any more. I can remember when ordering something "mail-order" (before the internet, UPS, FEDEX) It always was supposed to take 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. By the time you got the thing it might be 10 to 12 weeks, but that was normal. I am actually reading a book and enjoying it. I also have designed some furniture I will build some day, and am resisting the urge to just watch TV/movies all day, although there are some movies I will watch over the next 7 weeks. 8 Weeks can be a long time or it can be short. It depends on ones point of view. I cannot change how much time a bone needs to heal, nor how fast the earth goes around the sun. But, I am learning that I can adjust my point of view.

Chris, I had to have my Radial head at the elbow removed 15 years ago. That took 8 weeks of getting muscles/bones back together. Didn't have my Valk then, but did have a CB750 that sat for that time. Took a bit to button levis (no ziipper) with left hand but did it. Do the therapy and keep you hands/arms out of moving concrete mixer. Time will pass quickly.

You can do it. Years ago I lost use of my rigtht arm for nearly a year, A 250 yamaha motocross bike tried to kill me, had reconstructive surgery that got infected, spent nearly a year with a cast and a bunch of hardware in my arm. You can do the 50 days, piece of cake. Hoser

ok guys......trying not to bore ya all with this, but I thought it was time for an update.
I am in my second hard cast. They only let the full splint be on 5 days then shorty cast, the elbow is free to move. That was hairy the first week......movement was crunchy and clunky.....not much support for the bone ends in the elbow. Doing better now, seems way more stable only a little clunky.
I have had 4 therapy sessions. My occupational therapist thinks Ill get 100% of the motion back even though all the doctors said it was impossible. Them doctors dont know my work ethic....I really do my work everyday, HEY, I have nothing else to do.
Some days there is no pain, and some days the pain is almost to where I think Ill have to take a pill. I have taken 5 pills so far........3 nights I really wanted to sleep, but it really made very little difference so no more pills. I want to feel the pain so I know what not to do.
I can use the right hand for simple things now, like holding the toothbrush while I put the toothpaste on, but I have to still brush left handed. I can drive the truck, but not even thinking about the bike for 33 more days (thats when the cast comes off)
Thanks for all the prayers....Im really trying to not go too crazy. See ya all on the road soon
