does anyone know what the rubber hose is for at the top of the #6 carb and it runs down to the carb frame at the rear of the motor and it is just open, hanging kike a carb bowel drain. it is about 3/8". i have agas leak at the #6 and #4 carb. thought it was the carb bowels, put new gaskets and still leaking. maybe the fuel line or rail.?

It's probably one of the two overflow lines on each carb bank. If it's leaking fuel, you might have a stuck float.
Has the bike been stored awhile?

What they said, it is probably the overflow line from that side. If gasoline is coming out there, you have a float stuck. You might be able to tap the bowls with a screwdriver plastic end a few times and dislodge it. Otherwise you will probably have to remove the carb bank to correct it. I usually hook up an external tank to the carb bank before I install it to check for that type of problem.
