Plexus, Honda Cleaner, to Pledge are used to clean the windshield.  Use up and down strokes only.  Also you want to use a soft cloth or microfiber cloth so as not to scratch the shield.
More importantly than what to use is what NOT to use.
Dont use Rainex.  It will discolor the acrylic.

Hope this helps.

Ride safe

Only two things should ever touch your windscreen, warm water on a soft cloth or Plexus wiped with a soft cloth.

Dried bugs? All crusty on the shield? Hydrogen peroxide! Spritz on, after a minute chunky bug stuff turns to goo, wipes off without scratching. Then I use Plexus to make it all slippery again!

I carry two microfiber cloths on the scooter. A wet one in a zip lock bag and a clean dry one. Any time it’s needed I wash the shield with the wet cloth turning it often so as not to rub the bugs and crud into the shield which would scratch it and then I dry it with the other microfiber cloth.

At home after I wash it as outlined above I use S100 detail and wax aerosol on it. This keeps it easy to clean but should be skipped if you expect cold rain on a hot day since it seems to cause more fogging.

I used some HD stuff before and worked good. Ran out and use honda polish. I use plexis once in awhile. Also carry the micro fiber cloth. When its heavy soiled on the road I'll soak a hotel towel in the hot bath tub water. Lay it on for a few min and everything is soft. I wipe all directions and I can see out the screen just fine. I have used rain X before when I 1st got the bike. Then I joined the VRCC and they said to never use it. Haven't since then but it had no ill effects on the screen.

. . . copious amounts of hot water and a soft rag.  Hot water to reconstitute the dried bugs and bug bones.  Soft rag to gently wipe away.  Rinse often.  Do not use a paper towel, especially the gas station kind.  Once the crunchy stuff is gone follow up with the polish of your choice.  Ymmv,

Orange Pledge. Way cheaper than Plexus.

I try to touch my wind screen as little as possible.
I usually set a wet towel on the shield for an hour or so before washing to loosen bugs.
No matter what you use,you will scratch the shield eventually.
I get a new clearvue every 5 years or so.
The world looks so much better through a sparkling clear shield. cooldude

I have used Plexus, and now use Pledge.  I usually try to get the big bugs soft with a bit of warm water and then go at it with the Pledge.  It seems to prevent crazing and I have been doing it for years without ill results.  I found out it works pretty well on the instrument cluster of my old ford truck also.
