Looking for any "must see" or do recommendations from anyone familiar with the Lakes area, from little Lake Harris to Lake Yale. I know we have riders in Umatilla and Eustis areas.
We will be in Mount Dora for a few days and looking for things to see/do and good eats in the area.

ALS (stands for Air Land Sea) Landing - on Lake Dora, in Tavares. Just a nice place on the water that has good fare, good view, decent food and usually outdoor entertainment on the porch on weekends. Not your typical bike bar by any means. Has dedicated bike parking. It is a Seaplane base and the planes taxi right up to the back of the restaurant.
Hideaway - Lake Harris. Tons of bikes there on weekends. Deck overlooking the water and entertainment on the weekends.
Mt. Dora downtown - The girl(s) will love it.
Mt. Dora Brewery - Night. http://www.mountdorabrewing.com/  Older crowd. Usually has live music. Down home feel to it....not a meat market, just a nice place to go. Has food as well.
Several bars/restaurants in downtown Mt. Dora as well. Explore them during the day and decide.
Boondocks - Little Lake Harris - Howey-in-the-Hills. Neat place on the water with outdoor seating overlooking the water and great food.
Sleepy Hollow - Floral City. http://www.wallowatthehollow.com/ Take 48 back! Bikes and Airboats! Usually has outdoor entertainment featuring Southern Rock style bands. Not blaring loud at all. On the water. Under a canopy of Oaks. Fun to watch the high horsepower airboats take off from there. Everyone is friendly there.
Will add to this, just let me know what you want to do and how far you want to go.
This would be a good little ride...........  http://www.fantasyofflight.com/

Sleepy Hollow Tavern is west of Leesburg. Fun place on the weekends with a band playing and good food at reasonable prices. Good riding in Floral City and Inverness area.
Take 44 west out of Mt. Dora to 41 ( 40 miles maybe? ) then 41 south to East Gobbler Drive in Floral City. Take the loop around the lake. Lots of curves, for Fl. anyway. cooldude

If you guys like antiques & outdoor flea markets, they have one every weekend at Renninger's in Mt. Dora. http://www.renningers.com/dora/dorahome.htm.  I've been only to the massive "Extravaganza" they hold several times a year but that one is so large it would take two days to see it all, so the smaller one might be fun. And the good thing is that if you're on the bike, you can't spend too much money on buying something big! Have fun.

And thanks for the list, Pappy. I'm going to print that for use on future rides.
