The Bridge?

I'm headed out in a week or so on a trip from Illinois to Wisconson, across Michigan's UP, down the lower Peninsula, then back to Illinois. My question is about crossing the Mackinac Bridge. I crossed it may years ago in a car and recall that it is all or partially metal grid decking.
I know someone has been up there on their Valk.....................will I have any trouble crossing the bridge on a motorcycle? I don't mind bridges or height, I just don't like that metal grid decking.
Thanks.

Just went across the lane against the handrail is solid and the center lane is metal grid. It is the same in both directions.

The inside (passing lane) is a metal grate, open to the water below. The outside is pavement. The grate isn't a problem, just be sure to keep up your speed. The problem some bikers make is slowing down. You can get some wheel wobble from the open grate if you do. Enjoy the trip. It's a blast. US2 across the bottom of the UP is breath taking at times.

Crossed it a few years ago with a 85 Wing, no problems. Stay to the right if your concerned it gives you plenty of viewing time.

Just crossed a week ago, road on pavement and the gridding. No problem at all.

and make sure you swing west over to #22 and go south along the Lake Michigan shorline. It's some of the best riding around.

I crossed it in '06. The paved lanes were being repaved at that time and the only lanes open were the metal grate. I had no trouble and thought it was pretty cool looking down almost 300' to the water.
