Tourer More Rear Lighting Tricks.

Not to sound paranoid, but I have great luck riding a wing. It might be just in my head, but the bike is so massive, I feel I am seen more.

Question :  If I buy this tourer I am looking at, I was wondering if any of you have added extra lights

to maybe the hard bags?  If so any pictures and info of where got the lights and so forth would be great.

This is how my Tourer is set up and I have been told my many people I'm very visible day or night on the road.

This is the brake light, it has 128 LED's in the light, it is a conversion kit.
Note the reflection on the seat of the tractor.

Tail light is about like your old brake light for density.

This is just some flashing (8 led's) brake lights I added before the tail light LED unit and was too lazy to take it off as it not needed any longer.

I'm talking about the LED's mounted on the little reflectors by the license plate.



Trust me, just the 128 LED light, they will see you.....

Your not paranoid, what you are saying is good sense. I have over 200+ super bright on the back of my bike in the stock housing you don't know that they are there till you hit the brake. This way you don't look like e two wheel circus.  See when you put lights on the back of your bike its not something cute you are investing in your health, it is insurance.  I have a friend with a HD and he has smoked lenses on the rear and I told him they were crap and they were hard to see. I noticed that some clear lens I have seen were like prisms and difficult to see during the day. They seemed to reflect the sun and wash out the tail light. I'm sure not all are like them.  Now like R J is showing is an excellent choice with the 128 LEDs. But buy from a reputable store not like WalMat crap. You don't go cheap on you health.  I also I made a LED light bar that slides into my receiver hitch when I am not towing a trailer. In addition I put a small LED marque on the back that says DO NOT TAILGATE that lights up and animates when I hit the brake. This is about 97% effective and people back off. Another thing in my turn signals, I converted them to LED running lights and turn signal. When you put LEDs in the turn signals they blink faster so I left them that way because people notice you and you don't blend into the background. I hope this helps.

Question on L.E.D. Though

I did not add any extra lights on my wing yet, for one many have done L.E.D. and I read that you need like
extra modules or something to make it interact with your stock wiring and lighting up front.

any truth to this ?  hope I'm clear

basically  for example , my buddies  wife rides a shadow, and we added Jessie Luggage Bags to her bike

and had a box of lights laying around, and the turn signals we wanted to add to the hard bags
would not flash with the bike, so rather then ohm out the bulbs and add resisters we used
what else we had left...not L.E.D.'s but same Idea.

Basically my mind is set to add lights to side of Bag as well as in the back of the bag.

Either all L.E.D.'s or Regular, but I hoe I don't have to settle for mix match to get good lighting.

and I just don't trust add on modules , example Toyota Trucks we use to have a module box to make trailor wiring work from Uhaul but you cant trust them they burn out. Get my drift ?

Woefman: You can use LED's anyplace with no problems: EXCEPT turn signals. Then the flashing won't be correct unless you add a load equalizer in the turn circuit. I removed the reflectors and added these brake lights on mine. I found them at a truck stop in the clearance light section. www.electricalconnections.com has an LED conversion kit to add more lighting to the rear of the Valk.

If you want to use LED's in your taillights and don't want to add the resistors, you can get a good, fairly inexpensive flasher that will work with them from superbrightleds.com.

Get you some Testors candy apple red translution spray paint. Spray the inside of the turn signals. Install a Kury run,turn, brake module. This will light up the whole rear end. Just put one on a friends bike and will be ordering me one to put on my standard that I'm working on.
