I punched a hole in the front transmission cover between the oil filter and water pump. Can a popcorn kernel size hole be safely heli arched? If not are new covers available? The Valk's off road capabilities are limited.

Try havin it heli arced PROPERLY. Has to be less than a new part. And B T W-that's just M H O. RIDE SAFE.

Thanks to everyone. Answer to Rio Wil. Oil leaked. What a horrible site to see a pool of oil streaming on to the ground. Three thoughts immediately:
1. Oh my god, WTF
2. Is this a Harley?
3. I just did spirited riding in corners with oil dripping on back tire.
Fortunately a riding buddy had to stop and put on sunglasses. Another friend discovered the oil pool as we were getting ready to saddle up again. At least 12 bikers offered help as they saw the need. 4 of them to help push up ramp to truck bed Great community of riders. of course no cell service. All is well and I'll put a plug in for Progressive Insurance. Their roadside assistance performed efficicently and accurately to get me rescued from the middle of no where.

So, the place where the hole is....it it flat enough and thick enough to run a 1/4-20 tap through it and simply put a bolt with copper/aluminum washer under it like the oil drain plug.

The hole is just barely above the radius from the front to the bottom of the cover. Good idea on the bolt but there isn't enough material to drill into. I have a line on a new cover. It looks to be a fairly simple task to replace the cover. 4 to 5 o rings and a gasket. Time to replace coolant anyway and oil drained itself.
