Here's the route for our ride next Sunday, June 23rd.  We'll meet at 8:30am at the TA Truck Stop in Rockwall, Hwy 205 and I-30.  KSU with full tanks at 9:00am heading east.  We should cross a few lakes and end up at Vaughn's just about noon time.

Don't get there too early.  They don't open until noon.  Me and the Missus will be camping about three miles from there on the lake and will meet you there. So +2.  I'll watch the board and will get there ahead of yall and have a table reserved for as many as want to come.  The last time we did this we had 22 bikes but don't worry they can serve as many as are willing and they will just keep bringing it!  C ya Sun. I'll go. It doesn't look like there's much interest though.

As a ride leader, I can only offer the ride.  If people want to come along, then they can.  However, I learned long ago that worrying about the number of riders coming has no value, no reward.  So, whomever shows up is very welcome to ride and we'll have a nice route and good catfish at the end.  If it's just me, I'll enjoy the ride.

Hey RM, Send me a text as you leave and let me know how many to get a table for.  As I indicated me and the missus are gonna meet ya'll there.  And if it is just us that just means more catfish/shrimp for us!  Looks like about 5 plus us right now but I'll check the board again this afternoon.  Lookin forward to it. Four six nine five nine five three two two two. Larry

A half-dozen (Disco Dave, Valkpilot Dave, BnB Tom, Brew1Brew Les, RainMaker Mark and Jerrymca Jerry) lined up at the TA Truck stop for our trip to Vaughn's Catfish Sunday morning. We texted to Doc so that he could line up reservations (he was already in the neighborhood camping) and headed out at 9:00am.  Straight line to near Quinlan, where we did a lot of north-south riding and found some curves and some trees.  Slightly overcast skies kept the temperature down and it was pleasant.  Stopped in Winnsboro and topped off the tanks, then rode another 20 miles to Vaughns, arriving around 12:15.  Doc and his bride Phyllis were there to greet us and we went into the heavenly air-conditioning and sat down to a never ending feast of fried catfish and fried shrimp.  We all ate until there was no more room to stuff, then ate a little more.  At that point, we split up for the return home.  There was a fast route and a scenic route.  Jerry, Tom and I took the fast route on I-30 and the Daves and Les took a scenic route.

A good ride with good friends and good food.

   All good.  cooldude

Friends, food, ride...  But, just for a brief moment, as Disco, Valkpilot and I were approaching TA,

it started to cloud up and look like we might get rained on. Sad

Of course RAINMAKER said he was just fooling around so we would appreciate his 'handle' Grin

I think the rows of smiles tells the complete story.

hey, guys, I had a great time stuffing my face with fish. And the ride was fun too.

I made it back to the barn without even a sun burn! but my arms from my wrists to my elbows are a bit darker.

Oh, Disco was leading us back on the scenic route and we did make a u-turn!  Cool

Yes, we did.  It was shaped more like a P, but that's picking nits.

The important consideration is that it was an excused u-turn.  It was to avoid an Interstate Highway.   Wink
