Took the plunge this weekend -- went Darkside.  Noticed cords showing on the Avon Tuesday morning.  Decided I would give it a try.  Went with Goodyear Tripletread 205/60/16.  The nut cage mod was very simple and easy.  Biggest problem was the left side muffler bracket (Cobra 6X6).  The hanger holes don't quite line up.  Had to "stretch" the pipes a little, cuss a lot, and only threw a couple of tools before finally getting it back together.

The maiden ride was only about 10 miles just to get some feel.  I can't pinpoint anything specific, but something a little different.  Slow speed cornering and curves felt good and solid.  It just fell right into the lean and then pops right up coming out of the turn.  Dragged pegs hard on most of the corners.  Planning to get in some decent miles early tomorrow morning before it gets real hot.

Got the tire mounted on the wheel at Jones Cycles on Highway 6, Houston.  He mostly works on HD's, but he had no issues with putting a car tire on a MC wheel.

I've got Cobra also best way I've found is to just pull the shocks and drop the swing-arm. You can pull the axle above or below the pipes with the shocks removed.

Thats a lot better idea.  When I pulled Maris' rear wheel I was changing her shocks at the same time and I didn't have to screw with the pipes at all.  Didn't even think about that with mine.

I will be honest about this car tire thing. I was scared to death about it, i read post after post and still didn't think it was right. In fact it was a couple of years before i decided to try it. One saturday morning i was getting ready for a ride and noticed my rear tire was worst than i thought. I had just checked that tire on the last ride, i knew it was almost time to change it, but it wasn't that bad. Until that morning, i thought oh crap how am i going to ride like this. Then i remember how easy it is to get the wheel off, i have a buddy at the tire store. Took the wheel off and went to see him. He had a 205-60-16 dunlop rated at 120 mph side wall. It was rounded on the sides, look pretty good at $74 out the door.  Did the nut cage mod and mounted the wheel on. I rode a hundred miles that first day. Started out on two lanes, then went to four lanes and then to the interstate. I have never looked back.

     Those are Modified two brothers, no baffles and 8 inch extentions. Had an adapter made at the exhaust store. the outside of the pipes are the same but the inside is different. not to loud but with a deep sound.

Duct Tape, we hope to see ya soon at the Ghost ride. I've been DS for about 70k now and don't think I'll ever go back. Play with your air pressure until it feels right for you. I found too much air and the center will wear out too soon. My best press is arround 36-38psi  enjoy and get your DS number soon.

QOTFU and I got in about 100 miles this morning before breakfast.  The highway speed breeze was quite comfortable.  But, it was warming up fast.

I intentionally took her through some grooves and ruts on the highway just to see how she handled (the Valk...not QOTFU).  She seemed no worse than the Avon.  Pushed the speed up to 105.  Seemed very stable.  I always felt the Avon had to be muscled a little in the curves, but I didn't feel that at all with the CT.  One armed curves at rated speeds from 40 to 65 with ease.  Bottomed out a couple of times on some hard bumps.  Shock setting has been 3.  I'll move that to 4, but will probably have to go to 5 with loaded bags and a passenger.  Running the air at 40 psi for now.

No complaints yet.
