Wondering if anyone has used the Nilos bearing rings on their double row set-up?
I just don t like the idea of the spinning bearing ring flush against a fixed surface at 83 ft lb.So far ,not sold on the necessity of changing the left 6204.the one taken off had +35k miles and was great (still is after careful extraction) Annother Overdo? Shocked 2funny

Most likely, there are high mileage Valkyries out there with single bearings. A friend here has a 2K with 165K miles on it, the bearing went out in SA at 150 or so thousand miles, he rode it back to Beaumont. It still has a single bearing, besides, I don't think you are a hard rider, that bike does not know you and Chantel are even on it.

This puts the project off one more week awaiting delivery tickedoff

Hey Franco, from the sound of your original post , it sounded like you were not going to do it. I did mine a couple years ago, would have to check log book, I did not use any thing, ,except a plastic washer with a small bead of high temp rtv and all has been great.. I did mine at a tire change so the ass end was on the floor anyway., I think its a good idea myself...the is one huge machine, it can't hurt, that's for sure...I would like to see the nilos ring dealio pm me about the extra if ya still have it!  cooldude cooldude

That was more like a plastic cover dohicky thing I made up,, not really a "washer"....

Westsider , yeah I thought about just a large washer thwat would rest on the outside shoulder of the bearing but then the inside would have to be enlarged to fit overe the inside ring .
the nilos takes care of the nity grity .
thinking of puting th spacer backward ,has anyone tryied that?
when the nilos get here i ll save you the extra.

Thanks Franco.. I would not flip the spacer ,it had to go back in the same direction , that's the way the pieces stack together for the right loading when assembled, like mine is working like a bearing should with a small bead or rtv  wiped smoothly  into a small filet  around with my finger. Like I also stated I think doing this and installing a pingle manual fuel valve, are two good thing's for the valkyrie . But l don't want to open that can of worms now, or again.   cooldude

Oh,,, and did have your spacer machined , correct,,? People say they can cut them close enough ,, but don't chance that,,have it machined,, perfectly squared end... Smiley

sure ,machined down to fit the 5204-.020" a little more just in case. also playing with o rings to assure distance .tho the nilos provide 1mm of clearance to the inner bearing ring. Wink
