I am new to the valks but I think I read somewhere that the 97 to 99 valks had more power or ran a
little better then the 2000 & up the reason I am asking I am looking at buying a motor from pinwall cycles
on ebay and they have a 97 with 16,000 and a 2003 with the same miles just wondering if their is any
difference in the motors I have a 99 tourer with around 90,000 on it, also has anybody here had any
dealings with pinwall cycles   thanks Keith

I've bought alot of parts from PinWall and I've been pleased with the service. If its got a dent or other boo boo they are up front in letting you know. The 97 is the one they claim has a few more ponies 98 on are the same.

The 1997 model has different carbs.
Pinwall would be a last resort for me.
Their prices are sky high.

Yeah, that is the same question I was wondering about.

MGM has 242,000 miles and still running strong.....

I have a 97, they're all fast. Both the engines you're looking at apparently have been "just sitting
around" whether in or out of the bike, and the 2003 has less years on it. I like Pinwall, when I got my
final drive from him, he looked around in the warehouse and got me the one with the least cosmetic
flaws...

the engines are all the same. all have the same carbs, only part #s were changed, same for the needles.
calf bikes have different cams compared to 49 state per tech manual.

there are Goldwings GL1500 with 500k. The boxer engine design is bullet proof.
internally the GW GL1500 engines starting in '97 are the same as the Valkyrie engine.

nothing is wrong with my engine still runs great and my goldwing has 154,000 on it and is still going
 strong I just like having a spare engine around just in case.
