I use Neatsfoot oil or compound.  Seat, jacket, boots.  Even my chair in the house.  Ymmv,

I have used mink oil on all my leather stuff (boots, chaps, belts, hunting boots, whatever) for 40 years or so.  Cheap, works well, waterproofs? softens, etc.   Work it in with yor fingers/hands-don't waste it on the rag-let it sit awhile then wipe with a cloth.  Actually pretty good as hand lotion too.
