Mine came out in two pieces.   tickedoff

The tabs are intact, though!   2funny

It's hassle enough to replace.  I don't feel like adding repair to the task right now.

Black is preferred, but 1-piece is more important.

What was the failure mechanism?  Something we should be aware of?

Dave,

I don't have one, but there is a black one on Ebay from Pinwall.

Not many have the skill to remove and break it without breaking off the tabs. Impressive.

I wonder if you put your request out on the Natl board if you might find one, especially if you mention that you have a room full of parts to trade.

It's broken vertically at the right margin of the pretty center portion where it meets the structural part that is covered by the right side cover.

I have had a couple of wires that come from the front of the bike to the battery box/side cover area tucked in where the center cover clears the frame tube on the RH side.  I guess they were enough of a fulcrum over time and +/- 50K miles to stress the ABS past the breaking point.   Embarrassed

No, Steve.  I actually have a spare one of those...   Roll Eyes

Thanks, Victor.  I saw that one and passed.

Don't you mean the other National Board, Gary???   Wink

Actually, I have been contacted off-board from both outside and inside the Republic of Texas.  Thanks, guys.  You know who you are.   cooldude

What?  Did someone say something?

I bought a fresh can of All-Purpose cement (ABS, PVC, etc) today and will attempt a repair with it and some polyester cloth.  If that attempt fails, I'll reenter the market.

Dave,

Mt pods on my Interstate were cracked and I thought I was going to have to buy some more. I found this guy in Fort Worth that welds ABS plastic on motorcycles. He did a great job and you can't tell that my pods were cracked. His name is Scott. I found him on the web. scottsplasticwork

2 layers of Oatey's All-Purpose Cement (good for PVC, ABS, etc) + polyester cloth.

Repair on the right.  Preventive on the left.  Let it sit overnight before reinstalling.  So far, so good.

Hey Charlie, does that look like Lime Creek Road silt above my thumb?   Grin
