We still have a need for help on the Friday evening and the Saturday evening shift if you would like to help. Here is the letter sent out to Volunteers yesterday. If you didn't get this note as an e-mail and would like to be added to our list, just let me know via e-mail.
Here is the note... The good folks at Cycle World magazine and Honda are stepping up as in years past to help us help kids with brain tumors at IMS. The Dallas show is the second of 13 shows throughout the US, November 14-16, at the Dallas Convention Center. Free parking for motorcycles!
Yes, you can help the kids, get free admission to the show, an event t-shirt, and have a good time with other volunteers and enjoy the sights all in one place! You will be sharing with folks our October 4th, 2009 DFW Ride For Kids event and selling tickets to win the new Roland Sands creation. If you liked what Roland Sands did with the ConqueRR last year — which raised more funds than any other bike in Cycle World IMS/Ride for Kids® giveaway history — just wait until you see what he does with the 2008 Honda CBR1000RR that he’s working on now!
You will no doubt want to check out the show before and/or after your shift. Please respond to my e-mail addy with the day and shift you would like to help as well as your t-shirt size. We will use as many as 30 volunteers for the seven scheduled 4-4.5 hour shifts. These shifts will be filled on a first come first reserved basis, so if you want a specific shift, please respond quickly. If you are open to any shift would you please let me know that as well. Ideally we will have all shifts filled by tomorrow evening, Wednesday the 29th, so we can get your t-shirt sizes to Pat at the foundation.
Friday, November 14th
5pm - 9pm 3
Saturday, November 15th
12:30 - 4:30pm 1
3:30pm - 8pm 4
Sunday, November 16th
12:30 - 5pm 4
We thank all of you that step up to help PBTF help the kids and their families through Ride For Kids . If you have not participated at an IMS show before, you will have Major Fun! The people watching doesn't get any better! Did I mention free parking for motorcycles? Chrome, shinny paint, aroma of mc tires...
Thanks much. ~Jeff
