All,
After my Dad saw my Darkside CT and heard the price and how I liked it, he is interested in putting on on his 06 1800 Wing..
Anyone know what the choices and sizes are? Preferably one that you dont have to do any mods for...
Or if its a good choice what mods are necessary?
I looked on a couple of Wing sites, is didnt really find any good info.
Any help appreciated!
Brad

Curious.... did you let your dad ride your bike to see if he liked it?
I'm sure someone here can answer your question but I bet it is readily available on the Wing board as well.

i've got a General Altimax HP i'd GLADDLY sell to him!! can't wait to get that thing off my cycle!!
i can afford a cycle tire, and will definatley go back to one as soon as i get this CT off. i've ridden about four thousand miles on it, and can't stand the feeling of it. i like my cycle tires, and won't ever go back to a car tire.

I did hit the wing board, but not a member so its hard to post specific questions...
Alot of the Guys are running run flats.... almost all of them are running 195/55/16 size wise No mods
Falken Ziex was also popular and thats what I have... 195/55/16 is what Wings are running... not a run flat.....
Just seeing if I can get some answers from Wingers on here.....

I've resisted ruining the great handling of the wing, but I might just give the Austone Taxi a go next time around. I have several partially worn bike tires because I keep replacing them prior to a trip - wasting a lot of rubber if I don't get them used before they age too much.

I've run a Bridgestone Potenza Re960 Run Flat and now a Kuhmo Excarta (pardon the spelling) Run Flat. The Michelin Alpin is popular also.
I'm sold on the Run flat. I hit something about 2 weeks ago at about 80 mph and was able to get off the highway, verify I had a flat, and then limb 3 miles off the highway to a Chevron station where there was light for me to change out the tire. I was blessed that Hayhauler lived about 20 minutes away and had spare rim and tire. Oh did I tell you it was dark outside.
Of all the CT's I've run the Potenza was the closest to a motorcycle feel. Hell, I've followed Eric and his brother for a couple hundred miles through WVA and they can flat haul on their car tires.
But, that being said, to each his own.

Thanks all...
From info here and what I've read on other sites, the 195/55/16 seems to be the most popular size and requires no mods... I saw a few 60 series that said no problems, and 65's sadi they had issues or had to do mods...
As far as brand... Michlin Alpin seems to be the NEW tire of choice..... from posts on other sites
I have a list to send and see where it goes from there.
Thanks All again.

Brad, I've got a 205/60/16ZR Kelly Springfield "Fierce". Great tire for two up and/or hard rain. Check it out at "Belle Tire".
