I will avoid Whirlpool stuff from now on, 1 1/2 year old washer died yesterday, transmission went south.
Bought a new Maytag Bravos, nice machine, set me back almost $900, there goes my mad money for a while. Really ticks me off, that the whirlpool was just over the warranty by a couple months. tickedoff

Bill, that's how it always seems to work out for me. Two days after the warranty, something craps out. Reminds me of that old joke about the definition of "mixed emotions."  The day after a guy paid off his Cadillac, his mother-in-law drove it over a cliff.  Grin

If it was an older one I'd say fix it but this newer stuff costs an arm and a leg and when it breaks ,you throw it away. My transmission went out on my Whirlpool Washer(it is 10 years old) a few months ago and it cost me $125.00 to have it repaired after replacing the Coupling twice ,before the guy fixing it realized that the Transmission had busted .
The repair man said that most of the new ones are JUNK . And most of them are maid by Kenmore which also makes Whirlpool ,Roper, and a lot of others.
Hope you get it fixed so Mama can wash your play clothes.

Going to the scrappers, bought a new Maytag Bravos, it even talks to you.  The whirlpool was quoted, $35 for the drive coupling, $193 for the transmission, and an $80 service charge. Over $300  to repair it, too much to put into it.

My Whirlpool washer died DURING warranty.  I called, and they said they were slammed and could get to it in 4-6 weeks, maybe.  I said 1) WTF do I do for a washer in the meantime, beat them on a rock down at the creek?  and 2) a warranty in 4-6 weeks, maybe, is no warranty at all.  Blow me!

One warranty station in the DC, NoVA, WeMD area with a handful of people is a joke.

I paid the work done... not serious, but still $170.  Next time it goes, it gets trashed, and I'm done with Whirlpool for life as well.

Bad Ju JU. Today got up Noon and went to do a load so I could pack for InZane before I go to work tonight. Well the washer was full of water and had stoped mid cycle!  This is a 20year old washer that I have repaired it twice couping breaking and dogs bad in the spinner. I Overload it all the time and I know the new one's are not built. So I googled my modle and found a Youtube item said it was a bad door switch, when a checked it out, was the door switch. Hotwired it and order switch.
Just when you do not need soming to break it will
