I started the 50# pressure when my rear was toast on the 1st out the door ride, at around 4,100 miles.     I was in up state, Right Side, of Washington,  not to plentiful bike shops in the area.   I did find a Hardley shop who installed a front tire for me, he had left a Honda shop in Seattle about 3 months earlier.  It was a little bit smaller tire, because it would of been 3 days before they could of gotten a tire.

Rear tire didn't look too bad but it was cupping very severely.   He told me to bump it up to 50#, and 40+ #'s in the front.    I think he put like 42 or 44# in the front.     Got to Salt Lake City and the rear was showing cords.     Had the Honda dealer put on an new Metzler.   I put in 50#'s and it got right at 13,000 before it was toast.

When I took delivery of MGM I had just gotten out of the hospital (29 day stay), I left 2 days later and took a 4 month trip and 41,000 miles later, I had gone through 5 rears and 4 fronts tires.      Those suckers got expensive.   I had covered all the 48 lower states except Maine.   I thought I had gotten Maine when I crossed the bridge and got into the circle around.    Seems the state line was like a 1/2 mile on North.    So I had to go get it.    DO NOT try to go up into Maine in late November, it gets nasty.

End of the year, I had right at 58K on the bike.    I run close to 40K every year.     I rode to Santa Barbara, CA for a Poker Run.     Best part of it, I won the Poker Hand, that was $500, and I got $50 for coming the farthest distance.   Left there for a Poker Run in Reading, CA the following weekend and won their long distance rider, was worth $25.00.  They paid 3 hands, I had #4, NO $$$$ for that.

Dropped down and saw my mom in Oakland, went on down to Mexico and run the highway that runs in and out of Mexico to Yuma.   Damn sand and heat about did me in.    After that I run North & South while going East to get all those states.  I have 25 folders that hold 200 pictures each.    The next year I went East, and got all of the.   I have 29 folders that hold 200 pictures each.

Someday I should set down and write a book on these adventures, I said should, I didn't say I would.

I'm assuming you are asking me that question on pressure.

I have converted MGM to a Trike.

Before conversion I used those pressures.

After conversion I'm running 32# rear and 45# front.

So yes it is about the same and I don't plan at this time to modify those  pressures.

High pressure gives you more miles and saves ya $$$ on new tires quicker.

I ran CT on MGM from about 43,000 miles to its current mileage of 243K.  If I went back to 2 wheels, the first modification would be to mount a CT.

OK, I thought my pressures were high, but, not as high as yours. I'll bump them up a bit.

RJ, I hope I can see HALF of all you've seen from the seat of my valk. Truly amazing. Im sure I speak for the group when I say we'd love to see some of those photos!

Also, if your first move was to mount a CT....which CT would you mount? GYTT? FALKEN?
