I thought that it might be a fun destination ride to go to different lodges and get pics of my bike in front. Most towns have a lodge so I'll never run out of destinations.

Today's ride:

You need to do a little research on the free masons and maybe there will be better destination point.  Smiley
Free Masons worship reason not God. On the lower levels of 33 there are some that don't know what this group stands for. The apron they wear with the symbols is interesting and explains the groups ideals. You cannot be a Christian and be a Free Mason. Actually maybe its a good idea to expose these temples. The seal that is on our money with the pyramid did not get put on our money till the 30's by, guess who 2 Freemasons.

I've always refrained from posting in religious or political discussions, and I should follow that rule now too. But you have really pissed me off and I just don't feel like biting my tongue. In the first place, the OP didn't ask your opinion, or anybody else's, what they thought about the Freemasons. He simply said that he was gonna post pictures of his bike in from of masonic lodges. It's apparent that he's member of a masonic lodge and it's absolutely in his right, and his choice, to be so or to take pictures of his bike wherever he likes. Who the heck are you to tell him that he should research it and choose a better destination?

I don't see why you think you should hijack his thread by lambasting him on his choices of how he leads his life and spew your religious opinions and beliefs on him, and some of the rest of us, simply because he wants to post pictures of his bike in front of masonic lodge buildings.

I have been a freemason for some 50 years. Most of my entire family has been involved to some degree in the masons all my life. My brother, my dad, most of all my uncles on both sides of my family, most cousins, nephews, and on and on. My mother was in the Eastern Star as was most of her sisters and other members of her family. My family consists of some of the most honorable and upstanding people on this earth. I find it extremely stupid and distasteful for you to throw around your opinion that belonging to the freemasons somehow makes people bad. For that you can KMA! tickedoff

You can take your opinions and and stick them where the sun don't shine. You live your life the way you want and let others do the same. If you don't want to look at, or make, pictures of bikes parked in front of masonic lodges then don't open a thread marked accordingly.

The country is still free and you don't have to ever join the masons. But I can assure you that my family and some of the most honorable people I've ever known are masons and you're not any better than any single one of them.

Hey I like the little hats cooldude
My brother was badly burned outside of Cincinnati on a vacation when we were children and we rushed him to a nearby hospital .... They sent him strait to the Shriners burn center where he stayed for about two weeks I think ... I am not a Shriner but they helped my family and for that I am forever greatful I always donate what I can when I see a man in one of those funny hats .... Bout the only organization I do donate to.... And by the way the burn center was completely free of charge just good people helping innocent children in need ..... I love the Shriners for this reason only, and hey better then taking a pic in front if a building where innocent children were molested.... uglystupid2  just my two cents

George Washington was a devout Free Mason.. was buried under Mason rights...

And he was a Devout Christian.....

I also believe George Jr and Senior are Masons......

And thousands of other prominent Americans......

And Masons do require a belief in a "Higher Power" which you "may" call God........

Trying to keep this short...LOL

Titan just like you I dont have to ask permission to express a opinion. I also should have not taken this from a religious slant because the facts remain the same. I have only said to check out the beliefs that the heads of this organization hold I have not attacked anyone and would like to know how a suggestion is lambasting someone, contrary to your post. Why don't you tell me if what I said about the apron was wrong, or if the video was wrong. Why is the Masonic all seeing eye on our money?  Please explain these things or did the video portray the Masons correctly. I would  like to know how the monument to the Masons got to be at such a prominent place at the Denver airport and how it says to the most worshipful grand master and also what is the new world order airport commission. I do have alot of questions and since you seem to identify yourself with Freemasonry it would be interesting to know. What degree of Mason are you? A secret society that has the power to have a monument made to them on Denver airport grounds that the Senate has officially acknowledged the masons in a bill it would be interesting to hear more how this society put the words New World Order under the Pyramid on our money. Do you know the origin of the apron the Masons wear, the symbolism behind even the material it is supposed to be made of and the symbols themselves?

you know, I use to be naive just like you......  although, I always questioned authority, especially someone that judges someone else, or any group that produces a video demonizing any one particular organization.  your same church has produced video's condemning the Mormons, Catholic's, Muslims, Masons, Lutherans, pretty much anyone that doesn't walk the same way as your church.  you have to realize how narrow minded a church can make a person.

as for the Masonic Lodges, THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL!!  there's one here in Eau Claire, and I've often wanted to go in just to look around.  if it's that nice on the outside, it's got to be better inside!!

Art I dont see a post from you or Titan answering any of my questions is there a reason for that?

Albert Pike, in "Morals & Dogma", wrote (Pg.718) "Masonry propagates no creed except it's own most simple sublime one; that universal religion, taught by nature and reason."

Albert Mackey, one of the most well known Masonic authorities, wrote in A LEXICON OF FREEMASONRY (Pg. 402): "The religion, then, masonry, is pure theism...".

Henry C. Clausen, 33 degree, Sovereign Grand Commander of the Supreme Council, 33 Degree, Mother Council of the World, in the NEW AGE Magazine, November, 1970, (Pg.4) wrote regarding masonry, "It is dedicated to bringing about the Fatherhood of God, the Brotherhood of Man, and making better men in a better world."

The doctrine of the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man is not found in the Bible. It is a doctrine taught consistently by apostates. Also, the Bible makes it crystal clear that no organization, masonry included, can make better men. Only God can make better men! According to a Masonic creed, found in the Masonic Bible, masonry teaches that "character determines destiny." The teaching that character determines destiny is a false doctrine of the Arch Deceiver of Souls. The Bible says, "There is none that doeth good," and "For by Grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast."

The following quotations from Pike's "Morals and Dogma" show that Masons of the highest level deliberately deceive the Masons below them.

"Part of the symbols are displayed there to the initiate, but he is intentionally misled by false interpretations. It is not intended that he shall understand them; but it is intended that he shall imagine he understands them." (Albert Pike, "Morals and Dogma," page 819)

"There must always be a commonplace interpretation for the mass of initiates, of the symbols that are eloquent to the Adepts." (Albert Pike, "Morals and Dogma," page 819) [The "Adept" are Thirty-Third Degree and above.]

To turn this into an argument about whether or not Freemason's are good people would be pointless, fruitless and wrong.

One could point out multiple examples of Freemason's that were good, Freemason's that were bad, and Freemason's that were both.

They are after all human beings and like all humans are both good and bad.

Only one person ever walked the earth and NEVER sinned, and he was crucified on a cross as payment for our sins.

The question here is whether or not one can be a Freemason and a Christian at the same time ?

Before this thread if you had posed that question to me I would have said yes.

After a Google search for:

freemasons vs christianity

it would seem that the majority opinion does not agree.

There is a wide array of internet sites, blogs and articles which hold the opinion that one cannot be both.

This site simply compares the beliefs of Freemasons vs. Christians:

http://www.4truth.net/fourtruthpbnew.aspx?pageid=8589952787

This isn't a judgment for or against Freemasons, but if the majority opinion is correct, then if you consider yourself to be a Freemason and a Christian you might want to do a little research and some soul searching.

Alph I am not making a judgement of those that join and are in the lower ranks all look to join for the contacts, fellowship, and support that they offer. Not bad people but the organization at the head is not good. There are many organizations that have done much good for people and are not Christian but what was the ultimate goal and motivation? I am sorry if I have offended those that are Masons here. But just as O has done some good things and people follow him the motives behind those in charge is questionable, but I do not speak of individual actions. I am not so blind as to not see the corruption in the church either. I have had my share of battles with church leaders so as not to want to be on a board of a good portion of churches. That is not what this is about. Mason teaching says give preference to Masons in all areas. That teaching of exclusivity is not in the Bible. Why would a Christian belong to a organization that teaches things contrary to the Bible? A man cannot serve 2 masters. I doubt I will ever get a answer to my questions above either, I doubt they will want to break a oath that they took. That also is not in the Bible. Speak the truth in love, I am not the one who condemns, there is but one judge and lawgiver but even in Jesus time he said be wise as serpents but innocent as doves.

Not a knock, but since you asked.

I fully understand how people can come to different conclusions about who or what God is.

But, I cannot understand how people can look at the wonders of nature and say that there is no God.

I have had the opportunity to stand in the middle of the desert on a cloudless and moonless night and gaze upon the billions of stars that make up our universe.

How anyone could do the same and not believe that there is a God is just something that I cannot fathom.

I can vouch for Christianity and stand for Jesus and all you have to do is look and see the results and admitted servants of Masonry or even the pic I posted above so what is it that you don't know? I would say that its right in front of you. In fact I would say that not many years from now you will see the real results of Masonry and some other groups that the Bible has been talking about for centuries. So its played out for you right in front of you in your life time. How much more evidence of both do you have to have?  coolsmiley

A interesting conversation on Masonry.

Robert, seriously... I'm not a fan of the Masons because of their requirement that you have a religion, but, can you please start a fresh thread to discuss how evil the Masons are and leave the remnants of this one for people to post pictures of their bikes in front of a common building that's found in most towns across this great land?

Thank you.

Thanks for your attempt at keeping the thread on track. Not really sure why it needed to be hijacked. The subject matter was in the heading. Never mind that all those links were stupid and wrong. Hard to believe anyone finds any value in them.
Whatever.
You know what they say about zealots: You can't change their minds and they can't change the subject.

Thanks again for trying though. Your bike is very nice.
And that's all I wanted for the thread. I know their are a lot of brother masons here and I just thought it would be fun to collect a lot of pics in front of lodges. No matter. My friends and I will continue to include lodges in our destination rides.

Now, this started as a thread about taking pictures in front of buildings that might look cool. Right?

Yep, there were several Presidents that were high degree Masons.

A Mason is a Mason regardless of the degree, no more, no less.

Really ? So, there is no difference between a '5%'er'  and a 'beginner' ?
How many low level Masons have been President ?

A 3rd Degree is a Master Mason. All the other degrees are just learning more..doesn't make one more of a Mason.

What is a 5%er ?  I must have missed that degree on my way to 32nd.
