On my new to me I/s I am trying to learn how to set up audio system, speakers, intercom, cb, preset stations etc. with the manual in my hand I am going through all the steps. I have the key on an of course the headlight is on and it doesn't take long for the audio system to shut down and the battery is low. I now have the trickle charger hooked up. Is there any way to turn off the lights with the key on.? How have y'all worked on your bikes with the ignition on? Thanks fast Eddie

On my IS I turn the key to accessory mode. Counter clockwise from off I believe. Radio works in that mode without the lights.

Not sure how long you had the key in the run position. If not long and the battery got weak you might want to keep an eye on the battery. Do you know the age of the battery? Check the water level and keep on the charger. The bike likes a strong battery.

If you were learning the radio controls you might have had key in the run position for awhile.  Smiley Anytime I want to change radio or clock settings I have to grab the manual and read.

Yes I really had to study the manual, I figured most of it out.
It's certainly a learning process. The bike has the four speakers and all but the front left works. Is that probably a loose wire? This bike is a learning process for me. I have not ridden for years. Right now I am just riding around the neighborhood. There is a riding class I am signed up for in the middle of aug.  it last  three days and gets you your motorcycle endorsement. So I have to stay close till then. I am looking forward to getting out on the road on the big girl

Check the water level and keep on the charger.
If it's a battery like the one it came with, DON'T try to check the water level; it's sealed.
