Left Rear Shock Rubbing Fender
«
on:
July 21, 2013, 08:06:43 AM »
I changed out my rear tire a couple of weeks back and was looking everything over real good and noticed my left rear shock was rubbing the fender. I got the bike back in April and did not notice this then. Looks like it may have been doing that for some time. I am thinking I need new bushings, or could there possibly be something more going wrong??

Chances are you do need new bushings but that may not be causing your problem.

Had the same happen to me but right side.
Could not find anything loose, shock rubbers new but still touching.
Bike has never been pranged
Ended up adding 1/8 thick washers between the guard and side rail on the retaining bolts.

I'll have to take a couple of pics some time this week.... Should have done that when I had everything off..
I think I may have to do what Blackduck did and add a washer as a spacer..
The guy that had the bike before me mostly talked about how fast he could go on the bike and not much about maintenance.... It shows in several areas, nothing major, but not much on basic maintenance..
I am slowly but surely fixing all the little things that to me make a difference in the overall performance of the bike..
Cheers,
Robert C.
