I had Big BF install a set of quad horns at Inzane on MOnday evening, love the noise...

Drove home and washed the bike and now the horns sound like 50% of what they were before wash,  Did I wreck the horns or do I have to wait for them to dry out?

Probably got them wet and need to dry out. Got any pics of your new horns?

Get down and check the wiring connections. Your hose spray may have loosened a wire connection. The 50% comment made me think this may be the problem.

+1 with what Sandy said.

I have the BF horns and noticed they weren't that loud...  not from a wash, just after a couple weeks.  Yep, a couple of the connectors had come loose.

Couple weeks later, happened again.  Finally, I just made sure they were good and tight and have had no loudness issues since.

The very only thing about the BF horns.... I honked at a guy who cut me off and the guy next to him honked at him too (not realizing it was me that honked).   2funny

Interesting thread. I have the Quad horns, and now plan solder all connections when I install them.

Thanks Michael! I've never seen Big BF horns before. Quads must put out some DBs. And I thought my Stebel was loud. Anybody got a sound track of the quad BFs?

Picture a loud car horn... not just a regular car horn...  now think of 4 loud car horns honking at you in unison, plus whatever horn you may have left hooked up in addition.

The beauty of it is, they point out to the sides, really getting the sound away from the motorcycle.  I don't realize they're as loud as the person next to me does.   laugh

A sound file would be great... I'm not technically competent though   uglystupid2

The horns are working to their full potential.  While I was cleaning the bike from the Annual Inzane  I tried to clean the underside of the bike, (I know D. Meyer wouldn't do this... Cheesy Cheesy, but it makes my OCD fell better, or should I say my "CDO" now everything is in the right order)  I did affect one of the wires and there was water in the horn therefore not a lot of noise.  I'm not saying I will never clean the undercarriage of the Phat Lady again, but will be careful not to fill her horn.... cooldude
