I must say that it feels very much like a motorcycle tire.  We are in Maggie Valley N.C. and this is the first miles we have put on the tire in the mountains, the Blue Ridge Parkway and some smaller roads.  I have no complaints, in fact it seems to be much better in the ruts at stop lights etc. than the Bridgestone.  Enjoying the cool temps is all I will say and not try to rub it in too deep. Good to hear that report. I haven't put mine on yet (haven't wore out the MC tire yet.) Looking forward to mounting it and trying it. Haven't been riding the Valk as much as usual because I bought a H.D. and been splitting the ride time. Hope you and Iris are having a grand time up there. I am jealous.

I'm also wondering which tire we're talking about, and what kind o profile does it have?

Now I remember reading your post after you had 450 miles on the Michelin. How many miles are on it, and is it still something you would recommend?

I keep the records at home in the manual so don't remember the mileage when it was installed.  So I can't say for sure on the mileage, but at least  a few thousand.  As they say YMMV, but it works for me.

After a 3800 mile ride a few weeks ago I'm ready for the change of the tires all the way around. Put a Dunlop Elite3 on the front and don't have many miles on it yet.
I really like the profile of this Michelin and will start looking around for a good price. Already have a small shop that is OK with mounting it.
Sure am glad you took the time to tell us about your find. cooldude

Thanks for the update Terry. I'm still waiting to mount the new Dunlop 404 on the front and then will do the CT on the rear. I'm having trouble finding some one willing to mount them. I'm really torn between the Austone, Bill loves it, and that Michelin your running. I certainly like the width of the Michelin much better and isn't that the reason for the CT in the first place, contact patch? John and Doug are both looking at that other tire, name escapes me, but I'm leaning to the Michelin now. Hope your enjoying the BRP. We will be up there in October ourselves. I was going to try Smoking Joes Fall Color Ride, but "No Room at the Inn" there so I crossed that event off my calendar forever. Where are you guys staying in MV? We usually try and rent a cabin that's motorcycle accessible. Have a great time and enjoy the scenery!!

Jeff we are staying in an RV park.  We bring the bike up in the toyhauler.  Probably wouldn't help you but it is called Trails End RV park.  It is the quietest and best we have found in this area.  If you usually rent a cabin that information is moot.
I have a harbor freight tire changer with the motorcycle adapter and do mine myself.  This is not the best tire changer so if you can find someone that will do it for you pay the price.  Don't offer that it is for a motorcycle, tell them it is for your trike or sidecar if you have to tell them something and it won't go against your principles.  As far as the tire brand or style, it's kind of like oil.  Everyone has a favorite or can tell you why the one they use is the best.  Do your own research and pick the one you think is best.  I am not going to tell you that the one I picked is your only option or is the best either.

We have put several hundred more miles on the bike up here in the mountains.  The tire is performing very well.  I chased a 1956 Harley Davidson all around the mountains near the RV park.  The owner of our RV park was given the Harley for some work that he did for Dale Walksler the owner of Wheels Through Time Museum kind of in trade he says.  Anyway Joey can really ride in these hills.  The bike has a stick shift on the side of the tank, foot clutch, kick start, no mirrors, no turn signals, one little brake light and a 1956 Illinois tag.  The only time I saw him after we took off was at intersections where we were supposed to turn.  On some of the open areas in the flat in the valley I was running way over the speed limit trying to catch sight of him.  The tire never gave me a problem and takes the curves fine.  It does pick up an occasional small rock, that is the only negative I can find.  Should not be a problem in Florida where there are no gravel roads.
