Cody Phelps, the QB of the Balch Springs Christian Academy team, was reportedly killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, Nov 1st.  I can't find any info in regards to this wreck but his coach confirmed the death and it was motorcycle related.  He was only 17.

Does anyone have more info on this?

I am particularly hard hit as I saw him playing football that same day against Duncanville Christway's team.  It is such a tragedy for one so young to die.

I did find out what happened on this and it hurts even more. From his coach:

"It has been a really tough week so far for all of us, and I can't even imagine what his family is going through. Cody was at his house and his grandpa was teaching him how to ride. He lost control and hit a brick mailbox. The sad thing was he died in front of his grandparents, mom, and little brother and sister. We have the viewing tonight, and funeral tomorrow. It will be tough, but we as a team have decided to play our playoff game next week.

Jerry"

Even more of a reason to go to professional training and wear a helmet when learning to ride.  His grandfather has to be inconsolable.

Some things are best left to the professionals. Its hard enough to control these machines for those of us with training and thousands of miles experience.  Angry Sad Cry
