Couple weeks ago, Washer died, almost $900 for a new Maytag. Last week the freezer started acting up, so sprung for a new freezer. Yesterday pressure washing the house and my old pressure washer decided enough was enough. So  off to the depot and bought a new one, at least it is a Honda, nice machine idles   until you squeeze the trigger. Just wondering what the H%%^ else can die, at least all the appliances inside are still under warranty. As they say. some days you are the windshield, I think I am a bug.  tickedoff

Ain't it the truth. Kinda like owning an older car when you start having a problem with it. Take it in, get it fixed, runs good enough so that something else now shows up. Get that fixed...same thing all over.

I have a Home Depot about 3 miles from the house.

I have a Lowe's about 12 miles from the house.

Guess who gets all my business.   If you said Lowe's, you got it.

The Home Depot we have carries CRAP for mdse.     I think they by 2nd's from all of their vendors.    I've bought numerous items from them and it usually goes South just about the time the warranty runs out.

Bought a dishwasher from Home Depot and it had 7 service cars on it in the 1st year.   I will say this, they bought it back for full retail price.

Went out to Lowe's and bought one of theirs.   The delivery guy brought it out, installed it and run a test load through it.   The next day he was back with a heating element and that was 8 years ago.   NO problems since then.

I usually shop buy ratings from customers, but the Washer I bought from Lowes went south 4 months after the warranty ran out. The freezer that I lost came from sears, but it is about 12 years old, cannot complain a whole lot about it. I bought the freezer online from Home depot, it came direct from Frigidaire ware house in Orlando, Fl and they delivered it. Go figure. It has a five year full warranty that goes in effect after the manufactures 1 year runs out , even covers the stuff in it. With any luck, it will out last me.  Grin

Really sorry you had such a bad experience with Home Depot. I can absolutely assure you that HD does not buy "seconds"  from any body to sell to our customers. Do not know what brand of dishwasher you bought but remember, HD sells them, they don't build them and it sounds like they stood behind it and gave you back all your money even with 7 cars parked on it  Wink. Lowes is a fine company, I shop there myself sometimes when I can't find it at Home Depot. But it's not fair to say they all are bad just because you had a bad experience. Sort of like saying all cops are A-holes just because one gave me a ticket for doing 3 over.

Don't Worry, you will probably be able to purchase all of your appliances at Family Dollar or Dollar General soon. They are gearing up in the Grocery Department right now and Appliances will probably be next. Everything comes with a LIMITED WARRANTY for a reason. So you can Throw the item away and Buy a New One. Hopefully my fiasco is over for a few weeks. First my washer broke, then the Refrigerator stopped working ,and my water System  broke. I got all of them fixed but the Fridge, the New Whirlpool just isn't as good as the Old one and maybe they'll get it fixed soon.
