I started riding at 16, and stopped at 30.  A few years later got married, had kids (now 8 and 10), and after seeing a co-workers Valk 3 years ago, the itch returned.

Fast forward 2 years of research, stalking the forums and price-watching, last weekend I purchased this beautiful bike http://www.cleanharleys.com/1997-Honda-F6C-Valkyrie-Arlington-Texas-76011/4586028  Rode for about 200 miles last weekend getting refreshed on riding - it's true, once you learn, you never forget (just get a bit rusty).

The guys at the shop I bought her were nice, but pretty obvious they didn't know Valks, and didn't spend much effort on her, as the LED lights work- just needed the fuse spring stretched cooldude

I'm presuming the bike is local to Dallas, would love to get any history if y'all recognize it.

Looking forward to riding/meeting/wrenching with y'all.

Welcome to the insanity and nice to see that '97 Valk has adopted you.

Per the VIN number, that Valk came from Tyler and I did not recognise the previous owner's name when I saw it.

Watch the forum for meeting announcements.  We meet the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:00PM for dinner, 8:00PM for meetings at a different site each month.

If you want to stretch it's legs, join me on a ride to Fayetteville, TX for breakfast this Sunday.  It's only a 4 hour trip.

Again, Welcome!

Welcome Geoffrey.  You are in the right place.  I have a peppermint also. Many compliments.  Great folks here caring and sharing.

I buy and sell Valkyries but the red/white is my personal fat lady.  Hope to see you soon

Blessings,

Woody

Howdy from Central Texas Geoffrey!

Be sure to let me know if you are ever in the area!  (I might know a thing or two about some nice Hill Country roads around here.)

Also, you may have already seen the thread about the Texas Ride In coming up in October.  It would be a great time to meet up with Valk riders from all over and the riding is as good as it gets.

Of Course, I might see you in Fayetteville tomorrow!

Ride Safe!
